I've always admired his drive and the way he lays out lifelong goals and works tirelessly till he achieves each one. As an immigrant he came here with barely anything in his pocket. What most people don't know is that he was a self-made millionaire before becoming an actor. You might think it was his body-building career that made him rich, but in fact, he became a rich man in real estate before even winning his first Mr. Olympia. All these things and others were on his list of goals as a teenager, if I remember correctly. He and Maria Shriver may have seemed an unlikely couple, unless perhaps he was planning a life in politics many years ago.

I don't care about Cali politics. I don't give a damn about who the governor is. This is because I don't live there. The whole thing has just been blown up by the media. If Arnold had not run, the thing wouldn't be a huge story. It would be more of an aside. I feel sorry for all you people out there. Your governor has absolutely no political experience at all. How sad it is. A Governorship of one of the largest most important states in the Union should not be someone's first political conquest. Hopefully he a good staff with much political experience, if not, then God help you all.

It's a fvcking joke here!

Arnold is just a figure head like George W. The real govenors are his "advisers".

Hopefully someone really will do something to improve California, but actions speak louder than words. It's going to be an interesting next few years.

I keep saying this. It doesn't matter that you don't live there. They are a huge econmic power house. What they do will effect you and the entire country.

Maybe now I'll stop getting spam e-mail for "Hasta Lavista Davis!" t-shirts.

It's an embarassment to live in Cali, and even more so now that Arnold is our gov. The politics here are a joke, but now that the recall has gone through here, I expect to see it elsewhere as well. Anyone who thinks it wont effect them because they don't live here is probably mistaken, Cali has a sadly stong influence on the remainder of the country. I think I need to just pack up and move to the East coast, I told everyone I would if Arnold got elected. For the record, I voted AGAINST the recall and for Bustamante. I don't particularly care for Davis, but this is not what the recall clause was meant for. It specifies corruption as grounds for a recall, not some repulican who wants to buy the gov out of office.

Arnold is barely a Republican...I cant figure out how he manages to be a Republican considering his position on abortion, gun control and gays, strange stuff I tell ya.

Not every republican is an extreme right wing conservative.

I'm very republican and farther right than center in most senses except certain things like drugs, abortion, etc.

Anybody who voted for bustamante should be shot on sight. Hes like Gray Davis Jr, and this state would have gone farther down the toilet had he been elected.

Those are just some of the most important Republican things though...oh well, maybe it's because they are most important to me ;)

I agree, Arnold is barely a republican and his outlook on things is far from typical right wing. The majority of the reason that I voted for Bustamante is because I was so against the recall in the first place, and should Davis be removed, it should be in the correct course of our democratic system for his leutenant gov to take his place. As I said before, the recall system was not designed for this use and in my opinion, was a huge waste of money that could and should have been put elsewhere.

Hey Hey I voted for Bustamante and I voted no on the Recall, like it matters now. But I voted because not only was this Recall election making California look like a joke but also because I saw a way for republicans to get one of their own in office after loosing the first real election. Also I didnt like the promises Arnold propose he said he wouldn't raise taxes, Uh hello how else is California going to get revenue? Casinos? he still has to get the a law passed for Casinos to pay. Yes he might remove the car tax but I bet we will all end up paying that equal amount somewhere else. It just wont hit us as obvious. I mean come on now hes almost in office and he still hasnt delivered a plan as to how he is going to fix California's deficit. I dont think Arnold was a good choice but neither was Davis but we had to choose either one.
