Using srswap, the wiring diagrams says i should attach the black with a pink stripe from the cars harness to the blak with the pink stripe from the ca engine harness.Problems is i can not find any wires in the ca harness that are black with a pink stripe. The srswap guide says it controls the fuel pump relay.

Is it possible that there could be another color of wire used to control the fuel pump relay?

Thanks

No, the black and pink must be there on the CA harness, double check on the two connectors that go behind the battery on the fender side.I have done few of them and they all got the black and pink wire.

I Can't find one Even right at the plug to the ecu.I See numberous black, and a few black and grey wires but unable to find black/pink.

Any ideas?Could it have been pulled straight from the ecu harness?Does any one have a pinout?

I don't think it goes to the ECU. I think it goes to the black box by the battery. But it should still be black and pink...

I have the black/pink wire from the harness(Ka,part that remains in the car, thats run beside the battery) to the connector, what i can't find is the black/pink wire in the other Harness (CA)

I know on the old harness the Black/pinl wire continued theough the Brown connector and eventully to the ecu.I'm missing the section between the connector and the ecu.

Sorry for the confusion.

Look at this. The black/pink wire is for fuel pump relay. Fuel pump relay wire is pin 18, which you can locate using the schematic in the link above. So if the wire does indeed go to the ecu, it will go to pin 18.

Hi,

I have a harness in front of me and I doubled checked and yes, there is a black/pink wire.

It is located on the smaller plug, that goes behind the battery and on the side of the fender.

The black/pink located between the Green/orange wire and black/yellow wire on the smaller plug.

I also verified it and it goes to the ecu.

Id see if you can't find another harness on eBay or something.

It won't start.

I've tried using another ecu, ignitor, crank angel sensor.Nothing helps.

It just cranks and cranks.I had it start breifly(5 Sec) on starting fluid but nothing since.

I have triple checked the wiring.I thought it maybe the fuel pump relay, but the wiring was correct.

I Change the Fuel pump to a Walbro. No Change.

if you put the ignition to 'on' and turn the CAS do the injectors fire?

How do i turn the cas?

I'm not entirely sure they fire, do i have to take one out?

Would'nt it be unlikely that all the ingectors would be stuck closed?

Could be a wiring or other issue, etc.

if you unbolt the CAS from the front of the motor you can pull it off the exh cam and spin it, if the ECU is 'on' and it sees the CAS spinning it will fire the injectors, don't worry with no other noise you should DEFINATELY hear them clicking.

Since it ran on starter fluid but no other time I'm bettnig its a fuel delivery issue, either injectors clogged or the firing signal isn't reaching them, or possibly something else.

You've got an injector dropping resistor hooked up right? they won't fire w/o it..

I believe he is getting a spark, as when he sprays "quick start" the car starts for a short period of time which indicates that there is a spark but no fuel.

You either have the injectors clogged(very common on these engines), or your fuel pump isn't turning on.

remove the fuel line from the fuel rail on the engine and route this line into a bottle or container, open the ignition for about 3 secs and see if there is fuel coming out, if there is, you either not getting power to the injectors or your injectors are clogged.

(MAKE SURE WHEN YOU ROUTE THE FUEL LINE INTO A BOTTLE, THERE IS NOTHING AROUND AREA THAT CAN CAUSE A FIRE)

If you do have fuel, check for the dropping resistor pack, make sure it is installed.

If you don't have fuel, check for blown fuse on fuel pump or bad fuel pump relay.

do these tests and let us know how results do you get.

Ok I Tested The Stuff

The Car makes noise When you turn the CAS but sounds like the noise is comming from the fuse box.The noise stays on for about 2-3 Secs then turns off until you turn the CAS Again

There is fuel in the line, i check the main pressure line beside the intake manifold. In about 3-4 Secs it filled a 500 ML bottle half full.

I have searched and searched but i can figure out where the dropping resistor should be.Where on the engine would it be?

The dropping resistor is a rectangular metal box. It just hangs wherever, just bolt it to the side of the engine bay. The noise you are hearing is probably the injectors clicking. You have spark, your fuel pump is pumping, but the injectors aren't letting fuel in but are clicking. You need to clean the injectors.

My drop resistor says "Jegs" on the top of it. I guess we should all order Edlebrock four- barrel carbourators now.

well i dunno how much help this isbut on my 200sx i had to use 2 more relays...on 240sx is another issue...

get those iods (those injector testers)the plug one on any of the injectors, crank the car and if you see the light comeon then you firing(jump to actuall injectors see for clogging)if those iods are not firing then there is your problem...you have spark and fuel on the line but i bet fuel isn't being shot into the chambers.Check that relay again, and i am pretty sure there is a grounding/power issue!

actually it might be switching on a relay in the relay box if it doesn't come on with the ign key; im not sure about that.there should be clicking from the injectors themselves too however.

The resistor box probably doesn't say "JEGS" but "JECS", FYI.

If you can't find the injector resistor box then you might not have one, that would make it not fire the injectors.

It'll look something like this: (metal box on the left w/ wires coming out; this is a DSM box but the DSM and Nissan boxes are nearly identical mainly differing in the harness connector, both are made by JECS)

There should be a 6 pin plug on the harness, look in the FSM, it's F28..

Or for quick reference here

Of course you'll want to look at the RHD layout.

Does anyone have a part number for the dropping resistor?

Thanks
