Not cheap to get it brand new, I'd recommend looking at CA16DE Pulsars and at turbo eclipses/talons/etc..

Pulsar KN13 CA16DE 22698-R2000same part basicly as RWD just different # (RWD CA18DET is 22698-36F00) beacuse of differen't harness connector length or whatever stupidity, should be plug and play.

Like I said you can scavange at a junkyard..

ok i've got the dropping resistor now.

My new problem is the connector it's supposed to hook to is cut, does anyone know the colors of the wires that i need to connect and where they go.

Thanks

I'd recommend finding a connector that fits from somewhere on another Nissan vehicle at a junkyard, and wiring your dropping resistor into that so that you don't permanently attatch it to your CA harness, and can change it if need be.

However, the only really important bit is that the common wire (the one that is 6 ohms resistance to all others) is connected to the RED wire on the CA harness, the other 4 colors (WHITE, YELLOW, GREEN, BLUE) go to the injectors but which is which doesn't matter.

ok i got the engine started. It Runs for about 10 -15 Sec and dies.

I'm thinking the vac leak, most of the hoses are'nt plugged yet so i'm thinking that will have some bearing on it's running.

Does anyone know where i'll find where each hose goes?

Also where do the vac hoses go that are on the ignigtor

Anyone have any ideas?

The Engine Smokes Pretty Bad When Running, Could the CAS Be that far off?

Would the Vacumme Problems Cause it to smoke?

What color smoke? I don't think the CAS being rotated would cause severe smoking. Can you keep it alive by jabbing the throttle? If you can, and after the car warms up will idle on its own, it's probably a cold start issue.

Could also be o2 sensor. If no signal, car will run stupid rich.

If white smoke with blueish hue, could be turbo. If white smoke, could be head gasket. But burning oil can look straight up white.

Look at pictures of other ca's to see where the vacuum hoses go. Watch out, one hose on the left of the motor is same size as vacuum hose, but carries coolant.

MAF of O2 sensor.

MAFS or boost leak. It should still rev past 3k w/o the O2 sensor. It sounds like the MAFS though...

O2 sensor problem/absence and boost leak both have a similar effect in my experience. I think limecorrado can rev past 3k, but it sputters when he does.

Does it behave the same whether you are in neutral or in gear driving around? Reason I ask being that I'm curious if the boost pressure changes how the engine runs.

Is your idle high or did you have to adjust it to lower it to where it should be? If it was/is high (particularly if it's at like 1500 rpm or more) you probably have an unplugged nipple or some type of hole in the intake manifold. I know how that crap goes; my brother and I tore down his FD and when we restarted it the idle went to 6k (yikes!). It was a combination of the cold start mechanisms (raises idle to 3k until warm or until you jab the throttle) and the fact that a friend unbolted the idle speed controller without us knowing, leaving about a 2 square inch hole in the intake manifold.

Does it act the same when warm?

Something is causing your car to run too rich. You can find out if it's the MAF by unplugging it. You can find out if it's the O2 sensor by unplugging it. Are you using new plugs? I doubt it's a boost leak(before throttle body) unless it's a hole bigger than the brake booster, since that's popped off for me before and the car does not really sputter.
