hey...i know this guy thats sellin a ca18det for 800...i was wondering if that is a good buy...and what kinda hp/tq are these engines capable of...thanks...

the one on craigslist right?

he said only motor and transmission.. so you'll need ecu, wire harness? and he doesn't know how many miles are on the engine.

800 for motor and transmission isn't worth it. you can get a ca18 clip from venus auto for $1200ish and it will have everything you need for a install.

i'm not sure about the hp/tq it makes. maybe around 195hp stock?

yea...i know what it is stock...about 170...i was wondering what kinda hp/tq can they get too...yea...that is the one on craigslist by the way...thankz...

from my knowlege the ca can get up to 250-300 on stock internals if you have intake, exhaust, and a better turbo.

hey, i'd be happy with a ca18det that pumps out 170hp

i'm trying to save up for jic coilovers and then ca18det from venus

oh btw, ever seen a sr20de with itb?? crazy-ness

the only thing thats holding me back from a ca18...is the small 1.8 liter...i dunno...im thinkin about just turboing my ka...more torque...bigger engine...

bigger does not always mean better through. but if your ka is ingood shape i would also turbo it as well. but im planing to do ca if my ka craps out.

The ca is capable of just at 400 on stock internals.

The CA is the BEST 4 cylinder turbo that Nissan ever built. And don't let the 1.8l fool you....it is a beast.

the CA is a wonderful little motor, you'll love it, I promise.

DO NOT buy from Venus. Their customer service sucks, the owner (ronald) and the main secretary (vicky) are both flat-out liars. Also, you might get a good motor, you might not. I had several problems with mine. Search in the CA forum and you'll find my old thread

go with the sr. when i get my 240, i dont want all the ca's gone. GET THE SR. Don't friggin take my CA away like what happened to all the 240's when I finally got the money!

Damn. This is my new tendency: Whenever I see someone who bought their 240 after March of 2004, I call them a Honda ricer, just b/c of the craze going on here in ATL. Well, unless they were members of NICO before March 2004.

Yeah, I'm unreasonable about this cuz I'm just about to go psychotic! I want my 95 240! I've been waiting too ****ing long!

Phew, I got mine in Feb 2004

Btw, stick with getting a CA, like everyone else said, its the best 4 cyl made by nissan hands down

It just kinda sucks that the CA has now popped out from under the radar. Still, many people are getting SRs, but when sees how much more advanced the CA is and how much cheaper it is, suddenly the greatness of the motor becomes well known.

I love the fact there here local (in my town of 65,xxx), there are 4 SRs, 2 KA-Ts, and only 1 CA:)

Cys19ok...I liked the Silvia from 1994....then I found out about the 240 in 1995....so...I just turned 17....so I have to get it later than everyone else

i might get a hachi if i can find one for hecka cheap but i'll doubt i'll get one. stupid people selling it for over $3000.. all because of initial d!

cys19, don't worry, i don't plan on getting a CA. I've been wanting this 95 with the S14 SR since I found out WRXs were coming stateside with a price tag of 24K. My younger brother is planning to get a car this or next year. Maybe I can convince him RPS13+CA18DET and live vicariously through him or just punch him in the face and take his keys ^_~V
