I'm swapping a ca into my 93 coupe and one of the kids on the other forum told me i need an injector resistor. I never thought i would need that and if so could someone tell me how to wire it?!! And another thing i was going to by-pass the coolant lines going into the intake do any of you have pictures or diagrams or links to what i should do as far as that goes in and all help would be extremely nice!!!??

For the inector resistor, usually when you get the motorset, it should be plugged into the harness. Sometimes they dont come with them because the importers forget to take them or they dont think its needed. Its a silver box thing that has like 5 wires sticking out I believe. You will need it if running stock ecu.

If you need one let me know.

There should be something about this resistor in the stickies. I remember someone doing this a while back. Try checking that out.

Luckily mine swap came with that left intact.

I'm pretty sure it plugs right in, its the one from the pulsar. So I would assume it plugs in.

I cant test it because I dont use the stock harness or ignition, it was just left over parts from when I did have the stock stuff.

write up here......

I have one from a DSM in my CA. You can get them from late 80s Honda motors and 1G DSMs.

It changes the impedience from high impedience to low and isnt just a simple resistor like they sell at radioshack or anything.

I got both of mine for 15 bucks( I got 2 just incase one didnt work).

ya know, i just got 10ohm resisters from radioshack and wired those in.

Since the ca18de injectors have 12-14ohms and the ca18det ones are 2-4ohm... it works great!

I know I'm new, I just dropped by from houston240sx.com to get help. I still dont understand how to hook it up. I've seen right-ups but they have all been for KA's. I under stand it goes to the injector wires but does it matter which wire of the two for each injector? And where am I splicing these wires. Thanks guys.

If you have a dsm injector resistor pack then what I did is cut both plugs off then sliced them together. On the dsm one you should have five wires total, 1 white wire and 4 black wires. On the harness side you will have five colored wires, Red, yellow, blue, green, and white. So you want to connect the red wire on the harness and the white wire on the dsm resistor pack together. the other wires you can just connect them anyway. They don't get wired a certain way. One black wire to each color wire. That is what I did and it works fine, no problems.

I think it is the pulsar with the 1.6L ca in it that has the resistor pack for the injectors. If you have one those, you should just be able to plug them together, no problem.

Hope this helps.

Helps a lot, thanks man. I'm glad there is more people out there with CA's. Houston240sx.com is great but no CA help there.
