that 510/turbo KA power will be a monster!!!

on freshalloy.com 240sx advanced forum, there is a thread currently on a 500 WHEEL hp KA24DE. ~480 ft-lbs of torque is just sick! If you want an absolute beast of a 4cylinder, the rugged KA has proven to run with the best of 'em. No need for cams, headwork or valvetrain fixes like the SR.... a KA with only pistons and rods non-stock, propelled a 3000+ pound daily driver into the 10s.... truck motor or not, it'll tear you a new one. lol

my ca will be tearing some new ones too :)

i hope to hit the 480~500whp mark too and i'm sure bost boy may be floating around there too...

i still feel more confident with an engine esigned to take boost, valvetrain changes or not..

Quote »Oh yeah, be wary of the crank studs as one towards the rear main oil seal will not clear the oil pan without some massaging of the oil pan with a hammer and even then the oil pan distorted a bit.
you talking about the ARP bolts for the mains? what was you fix?

ohh yeah the 510 looks sharp... i saw a two door the other day and had dreams of a CA18DET powered 510, ohhhhhhhhhhhh...

Quote »you talking about the ARP bolts for the mains? what was you fix?
Yeah, I tagged the oil pan with a hammer and it worked, but it stretched the oil pan a bit and was kind of a bee with an itch to get the two oil pan bolts closest to the main bearing in. KA24's are good power monsters, but I'll pass on wrenching on them because that double timing chain crap and all those bolts are a headache.Quote »i hope to hit the 480~500whp mark too and i'm sure bost boy may be floating around there too...
I made plans on staying in that neighborhood or better.
