yeah i agree ca18 swap isnt worth it ...if u r targeting only 200 ....save ur self from the hassle and do a 4agze swap ......almost everything bolts up.....and the wiring is a couple pins

i think you guys are a little too stuck on "only 200whp" thats what i plan on having when i get it in and going with an exhaust and intercooler and maybe 9-10psi. later on when i can get the car tuned and get injectors clutch ect ect i plan on having more.

I appreciate you guys trying to help me but, this isnt a post of what motor i should put in the car, i already made up my mind on that i mainly am trying to get some wiring tips from fellow CA18 guys.

200HP in an ae86 is plenty.

check out ziptied.com the forum called body shop has a thread called "cheddar biscuits" created by microdrifter001. he did a ca18det into his ae86. he then blew the engine in a 3 minute drift session.

=D

i'm sure he could tell you all about what went wrong, and what to do. i'll go grab a link to the vid.

Hey TD, check out http://www.808speedshop.com. They did a SR swap into a rolla. Said wiring was easier then people think. check the site and give em a call.

Yeah. I just posted that link so you could see that its not that hard to wire it. Don't get discouraged and stick with the CA.

Is there somewhere on here were it has the pinouts and colors for the wires and what i would need to do for relays ect? i can hook up fans and fuel pump to a switch if i have to thats not a big deal ,it would be nice to have it on the factory ecu and crap. but any info on this would be great!

Call tophat and ask for Scott. He's a wiring specialist and a CA fanatic. I also talked to them about mass producing some SR and CA mounts for the AE86.

Oh shyte. I just realized you're in NY. I'm from the Bronx. I got a homie that owned a shop in NY. I think he closed it because he was in the Army and now I think he's deployed. The guy is filthy rich. He's got 2 houses in the Hamptons on Long Island.

Anyway, Scott @ Tophat is your best bet. Let me know what they say.

he said he can do it for me, he wanted me to take my dash harness out and send it to him. then i took it all out.. then said i didnt have too because i didnt plan on using my stock gauges, when he clearly said he wanted it out to hook power into it from the key bla bla bla ect. lol o'well then he's like "well uh... ok its no problem i can do that" but he seems nice and said he would do it at a good price as well! called him today because he said if i cant find a CA harness that he might be able to get ahold of him.

Yeah, he is a little weird like that but he is a great guy. They'll hook you up for sure.
