just check the profile ^ im a huge noob and my tactic is to ask questions and get answers. what im saying is you can never find things out without asking questions. some may be dumb but how else will you learn? go back to 1990 and talk about swapping a ca18det into an s12 and yes you will get laughed at, but its thinking outside the box that made things like that happen.

The 20e has a taller deck height. Custom pistons could be made to remedy this. Longer rods would b better so u dnt get tippy pistons. Forged of both r a good idea anyway cuz the 20e stuff is no friend of boost.

i'm curious too

where did you get this crankshaft??

because i plan to buy customs crankshaft for CA18,with 8 counterweights,so if it's impossible to put it on a CA18 block,i've done a lot of efforts for nothing.....

As he said, this crank will only work in the block that it came out of, and it was never produced in North America AFAIK.

so it's a CA20 crank

but a custom 8 counterweights crank with CA18 specification(for the stroke),won't touch these,I think,no??

tell me if it's the case

Not a CA20 crank or block and it's not custom.

CD20T? Is that the CD20T (or CD20) crank and girdle? Is that girdle separate from the main caps, like the CA18DET's, or is in one piece with them, like KA/RB's?

So, apart from not being able to make half a spin in the CA18 block, does it fit perfectly in the block, is the flywheel mounting the same, is the snout the same? Too bad it didn't work in the CA18 block. The CD20T was sold here in Europe, I could probably find heaps of those cranks in junkyards. Would have been nice if we had something cool that the US guys don't, for a change... :(

On another note, how different is the CD20 block from a CA18, or CA20? Do you have one handy, by any chance? RWD or FWD? Would the head fit? Are the engine mounts similar?

Oh, yeah, sorry for the old bump.

Oh, yeah, forgot to ask, what about the CD17 crankshaft? Would that fit? Is it fully- or half-counterweighted? Stroke is the same as the CA18DET, at 83.6mm.

Which is remarkably similar to the Spool one.

1800hp. Good luck.

However, they do make a full counterweight billet crank in a standard size! Yay! Now you can have your cake, and not have to deal with crazy terrible rod ratios too!
