first off i'm sure someone has already posted about this one....

Jhot CA

but i was just up there at his shop today picking up an RB20 for a friend, it looked really nice, i checked it all out and it was all complete, i was up there about a month ago to pick up a CA front clip for a friend, and looked at the CA's he had and noticed only 1 came w/ the droping resistor, after he found that out he got some from japan, and no i'm not related to his outfit in any way, i'm just saying that i've been tehre twice and my friends ca runs flawlessley, and the RB we picked up tonight looked really good too, they also have a cool set up in japan, they own a "recylcling" yard where people drop off cars to be recylcled, just wanted ya'll to know, they have a good thing going on

Wow, if you bid on it i will kill u...Just kidding but please dont. I emailed them a while back about one and they said they have a couple and they are ebay only on these so when i saw this one i jumped on it. If you were picking up that rb20 clip it was probly for Carl H, i have been talking to him for a while about his and he also mentioned the ca clip his friend got off ebay from JHOT. He was telling me how well that ca ran and that it purred nicely. How many miles did that one have on it?

i'm not sure how many miles were on his motor, it had the metal sticker on the cam gear valve that said the timing belt had been changed at alittle over 100k kilometers so its prob got around 60 70k miles, its a strong motor, that one that he's selling on ebay looks real good too, they 4 CA's right now, on CA18de, 2 det's and an awd turbo CA which was pretty cool, i went through 4 diff importers and took me 8 months to get a ca, and this guy has them laying around, hahaha, but i'm getting ready to rebuild mine, the headgasket went and my rings are bad and all that, its just a tired motor, so i'm goin to freshen it up alittle,

i havent exactly figured out what all i'm goin to do, right now i think i'm just goin tomei headgasek and arp studs, i may go pistons but i'm not sure, just all new bearings and gasekts, shot peened rods, ca16 cams if i can find some and get my head ported and polised w/ a valve job, i think i'm getting my headgasket through a shop in texas, and i have a friend that lives like really close to arp, he's goin to get me the studs and ship them. i'd like to know what all you are going to do

Well valve springs, whatever head gasket i find at the time, i have a set of ca18 main bearings if you want them for 35 shipped, i have a friend who is getting my head port and polished and get the valves seated, and full arp if i can find them. Dee just posted the part numbers and im going to see if i can get them direct from ARP if not, can you get me the hook up on em :). I also am going to clean the hell out of the motor, replace all fluids, hoses and belts, get a front mount and run the piping myself welded, hopefully(depending on funds) megan racing exhaust, and im going to talk to balanced performance about getting me an OS Giken clutch set with flywheel or just the clutch kit and get my flywheel machined but i really want a light weight one. Thats a lot of money and a lot of work but hey... it will be worth it.

hey, i may be interested in the main rod bearings, why arent you useing them, and are you using stock or what?, if you cant get the headstuds through arp direct i could probobly hook you up, i'd like to see some pics of your car, here is a thread w/ some of mine pics i was wondering if we could get nismo main rod bearings, and does anyone sell a full CA18de engine rebuild kit, if not i'll just piece everything together, but one of my friends who had his KA rebuild got a full rebuild kit that was pretty cheap, it wasn't made directly from nissan but it was good quaility stuff, anyone know anything about it?

Excellent, sexy :) Mines a hatch though with the 240 front end but hey, who cares. Im not using the bearings because i bought them befor dee told me i have to tear down the block to replace them and im only do head work because i dont have the will or probly the knowledge on how to rebuild the entire motor. I just want to do the head work and externals. Ill email arp tonight about the bolts and if not ill drop you line. I have a link at my house (im at school) that has full rebuild kits for the ca18de which i think will work for det too. If you have aim send me a message and nabxport and we can talk about it or just email me at [email protected] But scince i cant check my email right now just post back here :)

Quote »congrats. that piping/smic was a very nice part of that auction.[/quote] I wouldn't waste my time installing that crappy piping and piss-head intercooler on my car! That's the reason why most CA18DET owners blow their headgaskets, burn pistons and get spanked by some Vtec buzzing civic. Once again, congrats on winning the motor and I'm glad everything worked out in your favor.

Just take some advice from someone who knows these motors all too well, ditch the crappy intercooler and piping right away by selling to someone who wants to run stock boost. I know you want good power and that's not where you want to start. Make some money off of it and do your car right.

I have a customer in which I installed one of my SDS systems and his car really wants to be faster except for the fact that his intake temperatures are way higher than his engine temperature and his car runs like a$$ when that happens.

I have spoken! Don't be like Kevin (Nismo1182) and try to run big boost on that set-up or you will hurt something.

Dee

Ref what boost_boy said about the intercooler: I'm in the market for a FMIC and have been watching auctions on ebay. Put that sucker up for auction and make sure you list it as a JDM S13 CA18DET FMIC. People will go crazy for it.

Clean it up real good and get some good pics and it will bring more.

I got my FMIC on ebay for $650 shipped and it came with the hot pipe. It's called a hyper and it came with ALL of the piping, silicone adapters, clamps, and he gave me an oil catch can. (Which is good cuz my rings are shot)

Hello Float ---Did you get the S13 or S14/15 Intercooler? How did you modify the piping for the CA?
