ca not revving past 2k

just swapped a ca in my 240 and got it running but its not wanting to rev any higher than 2k and starts choking at that point. ecu is not throwing any codes....im really lost as to why its doing this. i checked to see if there where any vacuum leaks and i couldnt find any. please help i need to get this car on the road its my dd.

It sounds like your computer is in "limp mode" for one reason or another - usually a disconnected, improperly wired, or bad main sensor such as a maf will cause that problem.

Bad MAF, or it is not wired correctly. But it is MAF realted.

the ecu is not in limp mode nor is the maf wired incorrectly. wat else could it be?

lack of fuel pressure, or dirty fuel filter.

it has to be the maf. either wiring or faulty maf.

i had it wired by one of the best nissan guys around and the maf is fairly new... this is really aggrivating if i cant figure this out i might pull it out and sell it and get an sr cuz im with out a car and its hard finding rides to work and back every day

is your timing adjusted? check for vac leaks...

timing is right and i have already checked for vac leaks and nothing has turned up. maybe it is the maf idk is there any diagram with colors?

If it will not rev past 2k, it is a MAF issue. Any older Nissan does that. Try cleaning it. Try using another one.

I've had good results with MAF cleaner. Follow the directions and spray it good. Make sure to let it dry before you attempt to start it up.

the maf isnt dirty and we tryed the ca maf and its still doin the same thing. dee wat do you think?

idk if this makes any difference or not but its a mines ecu. i was told it was tuned for 550 injectors, z32 maf, and i forget wat else...

There's your problem right there! Get a stock ecu an start from there. If you are sure your wiring is correct, take the advice of your fellow CA'ers and start looking at your suspect ecu.

So you are still running stock 370cc injectors and CA maf? Either way, swap in a stock ecu and see what happens.

If you have different MAF than what your ECU is tuned for, that is your problem...

Thanks for sharing that little tidbit and letting us sound like broken records kiddo.

Yes, your issue is the ECU. Never run a preprogrammed ECU without talking to the tuner first. Throw that on eBay and use the funds to source a stock ECU. Mine's pours epoxy over their EPROMs so you will never get it out.

no im running 550cc and a z32 maf. does anyone have a stock ecu for sale?

my car idled real ugly and didnt like to go above 2k with a bad coil plug........

ECU sounds like a logical issue and when the proper specs arent been met, it wont run properly.

maybe a bad FPR........

guessing with nothing more than.... NOPE THATS NOT IT. doesnt leave us much.

tell us what you are running, what issue(s)(as usually it isnt just 1 thing) you are having, and what you have already checked.

as is with everything. Check all your grounds........... nothing likes to cause issues like a bad ground.

i pulled the maf off and cleaned it and it still did the same thing. i then tried another z32 maf and still the same result. i have another ecu on the way to see if that is the problem. is there a wiring diagram for the z32 with colors?

hey everyone this is usdm silvia im just at a friends house and he was already logged on.....but anyway i took the advice you guys gave me and still nothing. i checked the wiring and it was bad, so i fixed it. got a stock ecu and put it on and when i tried to see if it would rev any higher it didnt. but then i did a diagnosis to see if it was throwing any codes and unlike with the mines ecu it was throwing codes 12 (maf) and 34. rechecked the wiring and my buddy redid the wiring the exact same as it was before . so we redid it and fixed the spark problem and now there arent any codes. so i got in the car hoping that it would work started it and it sounded a little better at idle, revved and STILL the same thing . i really dont know wat else to do. any other advice?

i saw that someone asked wat my setup was up above so here goes..t28fmic3" turbo backi believe theyre 550 injectors not really sure (theyre yellow?)hks 264 camsz32 mafkoyo rad

as for electrical ****afc neo which im still not sure how to use completely but i do have the hotwire on 7 in and 7outhks turbo timerhks evc VI250 flexa lite dual fans

cant think of anything else at the moment but wat else could be doing this?ps sorry about the long post

update just went outside to try it again to show a friend wat was goin on and now the ecu is throwing 12 and 34 again. can anyone fix my problem?

no telling what the mine's is set for, even if whomever you bought it from claimed to know.

stock ecu is not going to work for **** with 550 injectors or Z32 maf , you need a romtune.

ok but i dont see how this would keep the car from goin over 2k... oh yea and just for ****s and giggles since i fixed the maf wiring i put the mines back on and it threw code 11 but when i put the stock ecu back on it threw code 55
