Bubs. I'm not sure where you're getting your "facts" from but I'll ignore that part of it. Those of us who choose to believe the entirely credible theory of man's impact on global warming, which seems to be supported by evidence, do so for what reason? If I choose to reduce my consumption of resources and reduce my levels of CO2 emmissions, even if the theory is bogus, what negative impact have I created? If it is wrong have I caused any harm by making the change? If I make changes I do so because I want to ensure the continued survival of the planet for my kids and future generations. You seem to choose not to act (or at least ridicule the ability of others to make informed decisions) entirely for political reasons. You attribute the whole environmental movement to anti-capitalist factions. At the very least ask yourself "what if it is true?" What harm are people committing by reducing emmisions? And what harm could be committed by choosing to ignore it.

Regardless of which side of the Prius v. Versa topic you are supporting, all of us are doing something by driving gas-sipping vehicles. I am amazed at the number of 8-12 mpg SUVS/trucks I see during the course of any day. Each of you is addressing the issue in different ways whether it be to "save the planet" or "save the bucks".

OK... I guess my locking of this thread needs some explanation, for some of the parties involved.

Last night, when I posted my warning, I requested that everything be kept in a civil tone.

The very first post after my warning was clean and civil, but things went downhill pretty quickly from there, and both sides are guilty. I stepped back and looked at the whole thread from the perspective of a new user, and didn't like what I saw at all.

I will allow the discussion to be reopened on the condition that it remain civil. No slandering, no sarcasm, no labels about what kind of person you think the other side is (This applies to BOTH sides... I do not want to see the words "Religious" or "communist/socialist" ANYWHERE in the post).

Please pay attention to this next part very carefully (particularly aimed at those of you who emailed me):

PLEASE REFER TO zer...moved, particularly bullet #5. I am being lax with the rules by even allowing the topic to exist. Don't complain to me if it gets terminated because I don't like the way you guys are playing. I do not HAVE to let this topic exist.
