use mdf... I also made a new piece of mdf to lay across the bottom of my trunk, and have carpet over that, besides loosing a 1/4 inch of clearence it looks stock.

no reply yet from the S13GUY?

just another tip:

if clarity is what you want, stay away from a ported or bandpass box. its real technical to explain but they are basically meant to make the most boom for the power. bass gets really sloppy in a bandpass setup with a good amount of thump being pumped.

if you want clarity, but still a lot of boom, save money and buy a sealed box. Then take the extra dough and put it into a stronger amp.

I suggest you build your own box if your are going witha sealed enclosure. Its not that difficult, just several calculations and your on your way to a new box. Find out the right airspace the woofer needs and built it off that. Just use 3/4 MDF or anything thicker. DO NOT use plywood. A piece of MDF board cost around $17 at Home depot. Get some wood glue or Liquid nails, caulk, nails, buy some terminals, wires and thats it. Buyin a Prefab box will cost you alot and you dont even know if it will fit you sub perfectly, unless you get the place to build it to your specified dimensions. Building your own will be safer, unless you dont have the time or necessary tools, then I would go with a prefab or custom box.

go for JL subs you can get a 10W0 for little of nothing, and an amp for anout 150 to power it, it's not the greatest sub, but it will impress you time and time again. Or save and get 12 or a 10W6v2, get 12 if you like rp, get a 10 if you like rock, smaller subs react faster, and sound crisper for rock and roll, but a 12 will be a better thumper if you like rap.

2 amps? are they for the same sub? or is one interior, and one for sub. Wont sound right, and if you get 2 12w3's the different watts would make them argue, and sound different. Sell both amps and get 1 better amp. like fosgate 250 which will actually put out 250 watts rms.
