Hyundai Canada is offering Equus customers “concierge service” - a 1-800 number that allows you to shop for your new Equus from the comfort of home. The test car is brought to your door and, after purchase, the concierge will pick up and deliver your car for servicing and leave an Equus or Genesis loaner while the work is being done.

Hyundai is even throwing in an iPad interactive owner’s manual.
Service on the level of Bugatti from a Korean automaker. [Okay, they probably won't come out with a helicopter and airlift you, but its the same idea.]

This is the kind of service I enjoy from my Saab mechanic, except he doesn't leave a loaner for me.

Back in the 90's, The Infiniti dealer in downtown Toronto use to do this for scheduled service only. They left me a G20 or I30 on a few occassions.

I don't know about the US, but in Canada Hyundai service departments are known for treating their customers with contempt......worse then old GM dealer service. Maybe that's why, I have only ever seen one Genesis on the road ever. Hyundai can build cars loved by critics, but if their dealer service sucks, the folks who can afford cars in this price range will stay away in droves. At this price point, not only is the car important but also dealer care.

Thats also why the Mazda 929 and Millenia struggled. Two great cars, expensive, sold through dealers that were more accustomed to handling buyers of B-trucks and 323s. I suspect the free pickup and delivery is a way of bypassing a risky dealer experience.

The 2010 Genesis sedan with the 4.6 engine has a transmission made by ZF....notice the other cars that use it -

- if it's a lemon, I'll have lots of other luxo-car owners to commiserate with.

The 2011 was supposed to get a new 8 speed transmission made by Hyundai, but they ended up sticking with the ZF and pushing the in-house 8 speed back another year. You can draw your conclusions about that. Mine would be not to touch an early model year 2012 Genesis with a barge pole.

I bought a 2010 4.6 sedan with the tech package from St. Charles Hyundai out by you in February to be my wife's new daily driver. We both love it. It's not quite a Q45, but what new car is, these days?

(I was also happy with the dealership, which was a pleasant surprise.)
