im looking for a 240 and i found a few that look good. the first one is a '91, about 115k miles. its red fastback and its an se. the second is a little cheaper, and its a two-tone brown/tan coupe. non se (i think) and its an '89, and i dont know the mileage. with the extra money from the coupe(a few hundred) i could fix it up a little, but the fastback is already a se. they're both 5 speed and also the coupe has some stereo stuf which i could sell to get more mods for it. which do you think i should get or which would you want? thx

acualy you should get the coupe, just because its sohc doesnt mean its bad.. it does have higher compression pistons so it makes up for it, i bet everyone forgot that there dohc has lower compression.. besides if you get the sohc you can upgread to dohc with ease and then you'll have 11:1 compression ratio with dohc which means more power then stock dohc motor.. and if you get an upgraded fuel map.. or some how do some wireering work and install an s14 ecu so you can have the better fuel map you'l probably have maybe closer to 170hp(with other generic mods like k&n filter and exhaust).. and thats like... maybe 1000 dollers of stock stuff.. not even that maybe just like 300, its the ecu thats going to cost alot.. and you'll have a better car then the guys with the s13 with there fancy cams and low compression pistons.. i have a 91 coupe id envy you if u did what i suggested..

i mean what do you want to with it? are you going to drift?drag?pimp out your car?

LoL, I was just about to say that slo40 ;)

When I first got my job, my dumb *** manager (he has since been fired.. thats what you get when yer an *** to everyone and a screw up on top of that) and I told him I had a 240sx, he was like "oh, thats like the sister car of the probe, like a talon and a eclipse. " Then he continued to argue with me about it. So Im like, the probe is fwd, and has a v6 (the gt atleast) then he just kinda got all smug and stopped argueing but you could tell he thought he was right :(

Anyways, fastbacks.. I liked them before I knew anything about 240's, then I saw my first 240 for sale at a gas station. And I never turned back. The coupe is just classy, the fastback... its like .. I dont know.. the mass market version.. And if you want a weaker chassis, get a convertable, they are pimp.

Oh, and about the fastback being a girls car, thats just some weird stigma I get with cars. Like the fast back is a girls car, the coupe isnt, an eclipse is a girls car, but a talon or a laser is not. and pretty much any VW, golf, jetta, ect are girls cars. Like I said, its some weird idea that gets into my head about cars, hell I even think a mustang is a girls car.

no way... SHO owns you :D

my freind is an SHO hype... hes had the car for like 2 years and had it running for about 4 months total...

When he talks some **** about my civic or my 240, then Im just like, "how about you 'SHO' me your car can run for more then a month without breaking down?" lol that shuts him up fast :)

but seriosly, SHO's are pretty quick considering they are a big lumbering FWD car.

I like the fastback. I'm not a fan of the coupe for some reason. The trunk looks like it's just, not right. I'm not saying the fastback trunk is better, but the cabin of the coupe looks truncated, or prematurely cut off to make room for a trunk. Maybe if the rear pillars were at a less steep angle it wouldn't look so chopped. Anyway, the DOHC is better if you want to keep the engine as it is and just put basic stuff, IHE. I don't know how Irax's suggestion would work out, but maybe the sohc would be a better choice if building the KA is actually your aim. Personally, my kaE lacks top-end, since I'm staying with a mostly stock setup, I sort of wish I had a DOHC. But I don't mind at all. Ultimately, go with your gut. PEACE. Tek.

'96 Cobra for a '96 Z28

or a '69 Z28 for a '69 Mach 1

though I might take a 350 IROC Z over a similiar year GT, well, yeah, I would, merely because the IROC Z is still one of my dream cars ( yeah I hear you laughing, you can suck my pen15)

the hatchback has the ability to have sexual relations easier, the backseat folds down! you can also fit an average sized 20" bike in it, or boxes of crap and what not, it's just got more cargo room.

I too prefer the looks of the coupe, but no way would I not pass up a DOHC in favor of the SOHC

I do however like the pignose front end better.

errrmmm... camaro is a car for a man with a lil ****, atleast the new ones, camaros stopped being cool in the mid-late 80's with that ugly boxy body style, then they tried to smooth things out and it just looks like some little kid drew a 'sports car' thers nothing classy about the recent camaros. And actually the 05 stang does look pretty sexy, but still, its a ford ;)

acualy the 80's models are far better looking the the "stingray comaro" that were the 74? - 82? correct me if im wrong, but those were THEE worst camaros the late 80's and up are far better looking then the old ones.. except for the 67-69 camaro those were HOT!

yeah, Camaro sucked between 74 and 84, they had ugly frontends.

70 1/2 is probably favorite, and the '69 Mach 1 stang being the best looking, and really, with the 429CJ, the best performer (numbers wise, it still wasn't too great a turner:D)

but yeah, get the hatch sucka! unless you wanna do a swap, then it doesn't really matter...

I dunno how we got to talking about domestics, but I hate how the mustang is everyone's car. I wouldn't mind it so much if it weren't designed to be a cheap commercial sports car. I despise it. I actually like how the 05 looks, but again it's for stupid working class americans that think cuz it says "mustang" they will be badasses by driving it. Today's mustang is nothing like the legend the word "mustang" carries with it, which I also don't fully believe. Of course, you can have one of 30 different trim levels cuz Ford wants to sell as many as possible, on name alone, rather than true performance. You can get the gutless base model, the "Pimped Out" Froush, the fast-in-a-straight-line-but-cant-turn-worth-a-damn Bullit or saleen whatever, the wannabe fast GT, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc. How many trim levels of the enzo can you get, how bout the damn r35, Even Accords are only available in 5 or so trim levels. What the hell, I get so angry when I think about how people love the mustang so much, when it's nothing more than a glorified Escort. Ford is the fast food of the automotive industry. Nissan sells cars cuz they make good cars. Ford sells cars cuz they make working class people and dumb white chicks think they are buying something great for cheap. PEACE. Tek.

the bullet was a one year only car to mark the 35th anniversary of the movie it's named after.

Roush and Saleen are both aftermarket and not trim offered.

there are currently 4 models of the Mustang, those being base, GT, Mach 1 and the Cobra(I think the Cobra and Mach 1 are only coupe version).

in '69 for example, there was the base, the Mach 1, the Boss, the GT, Verts.

the R35 is still nonexistant, and the Skyline had way more trim levels.

2 door or 4 door, GT-S, GT-R and whatever the base was...

calling the Mustang a glorified Escort is 'tarded. Like comparing a 240 and a 4 door sentra.

oh, the Bullit really wasn't very fast straight line either, it was more or less a special edition GT with one of the best exhaust notes you'll ever hear.

tek, you have a couple comments that you've aimed at domestics, and Ford, but in truth would be spot-on if you were talking about the 240sx.
