Okay long time but the shop was backed up, its about to start this week. I have learned a whooole bunch about engines since I decided to start this, I have really enjoyed it. I will enjoy having my car back more though :P. Okay the parts I got for it now, and the plans for the car. A machine shop is going to do all the motor work to it, checking it out and all. Only things I have not ordered yet are main/rod bearings, and pistons. I am waiting to hear from the machine shop on what grade I should order bearings, and depending on how much honing they have to do if they recomend oversized pistons, probably cp 65.5mm. The engine would be broke in 500 miles, oil changed to synthetic before I pick it up. Realisticly, how much whp do you think this would be able to hold reliably.Nissan O2 SensorNissan PCV ValveNissan Timing ChainNissan Timing Chain TensionerNissan Engine Gasket KitNissan Piston Rings (Will be sent back if I have to order pistons, the CP pistons include rings)ARP Rod BoltsARP Headstud KitSuper V BeltPeak Performance Gold Valve SpringsGreddy Rocker Arm StoppersNismo ThermostatNismo Engine/transmission MountsNGK Iridum Spark PlugsApex'i Metal Headgasket .8mmACT Street/Strip ClutchFidanza FlywheelEarl's Clutch LineMegan Lightweight Pullies

I would say somewhere around 500 reliably, though with it torn apart i would do rods...

The stock motor has held i believe 550 on stock internals and HG, so you will definetly be able to do a decent amount of damage. That thing should rev pretty hard tho.

So, after reading through this thread I gain that eagle rods are bad? Or at the least not as good as stock??

there have been a few horror stories about them. It has been proven that stock rods are pretty strong and can hold up to high horsepower applications.

ya overall i heard stock > eagle, but the weak part of stock is the rod bolts hence why i bought the arp rod bolts.

Well definatley a lot of people have "Heard" things but is there anyone that can back this up? Didn't they make these rods for a reason?? My goal is around 500hp, so if the eagle rods are junk , then ill have to find another aftermarket rod. Because I really dont forsee the stock ones holding 500hp for long.tony-

just b/c they aftermarket does not mean they are stronger, but not saying they arent. I dont know if anyone has actually tested stock vs eagle in a comparison. but i do know plenty of ppl are pushing 500hp with stock rods no problem. of course im sure there are ppl pushing that with eagle rods too. anyone that knows of a link to a comparison of the two post it, would be good info. or some actual facts instead of my friend had eagle and they crapped out, or my sister-in-laws baby cousin had stock and they imploded one day as for real good rods, crower steel billet are supposedly top notch, around $700 a setalso seen greddy connecting rods, have not really heard nothing about them but a set is $1,000+ lol prob why never heard of them.

This is agreed. There are too many assumptions and not enough facts. You cant really rebuild your engine on peoples opinions and not facts.
