So, Bugatti is going to release a.. well not a super car anymore, this may be an ultra car? The Bugatti Veyron will feature a 1001 BASE horsepower, QUADturbo V16 engine. But the cost will probably be enough so that people will die before they can even buy one. I think in that article it says that they won't make them, but it turns out that they are. Scary stuff-Kev

a v16 should not need 4 turbos to produce 1001 break hp.

Ya know how sick that'd be if sombody dropped on of those engines into a 240? I bet your tires would be chirping in fifth gear.

That car would probably be able to haul a semi truck's load. And cruise at 150 while doing it. Bwahhaha

i agree the interior's ugly and the outside isnt a r33 to look at...you might as well buy a gun and a bullet with that money and save the rest of your money and give it to someone cause your going to die driving that thing.

that'd be funny if it didnt have power locks or power windowswhat a shame you spend all that money for all that power but still have to crank the window down

Actually, i don't think that will happen, A Semi ... has a torque multiplier of 3-5 times the horse power, a small Catapillar 300 block can easily produce 1,200 lbs of torque. Ever see what happens if u start a semi accidently in 1st gear ... usually pretzel the drive shaft.

actually i beleive some high end carmakers do do this ( haha dodo), but seriously i was watching a tv show where they were showin the new Ferrari Enzo, and one of the Ferrari's guys was sayin how the car doesn't have power windows, said they were tryin to get an onld skewwl feel to the car,

i guess when you are Ferrari you can do this, if they didn't put power windows on a Maxima alot people would think it's stupid

the turbos are so small.. and the car.. well the car is just UGLY.. why is it that almost all of the new concept cars are just ugly as hell.. so disapointing.. we need more NSX looking cars =\

That Veyron fugly, no doubt. If you want 16 cylinders, the Cadillac 16 prototype is actually pretty nice looking, has 1000hp, and if it goes to production would be far cheaper.

I don't know what is wrong with you people. That car is ridiculously awsome. 1001 hp, 900+ tq, retro mod interior, and body that sais "I have more money than you could ever imagine." Best car i've ever seen IMO.

I agree with you Toki, the Veyron's engineering is exotic and awesome, and to be seen in one means your bank account is equally amazing. But the body and interior are just not as nice as other exotic cars out there. Stuff that wonderful engineering inside an sleek XJ220 body and a I guarantee a whole lot more people would drool over it.

it says it had front mount intercoolers in a mid-engine car. Guess that is why the turbos are so small. That's a Helluva lot of plumbing.

no that is a fugly car. It looks like a red and black bean. If you want a car that say "i have money" you buy a shelby series one or a ferrari or some car that doesnt have to look strange for people to notice it.

EDIT: and a 7 speed transmission is retarded.

how is a 7spd transmission retarted?, just one more gear than a 6speed, obviously they're not that retarted, considering formula one cars use them, only allows you to optimize your gear ratios more, and stay in teh power band more often, hell by the time i have kids, i wouldnt doubt to see 6speed auto's in maximas and such(hell maybe even 7spd) the new nissan murano has a 7spd transmission

hah j/k. And last time I checked, ferarris looked pretty ****in wierd, but people have just come to accept the style.

i think the reason they came to accept its style is because it says 'ferrari' or 'pinninfarina' on the side, and i was dissapointed with the style of the enzo, pinninfarina usually does a better job IMO than that, of course it is very aerodynamic and useful and such, but its just ugly, i still havent seen anything that tops the PAGANI ZONDA C12s

oh man, i hope they come out with a 9 speed manual car so i can spend more time shifting then pressing the go pedel...

you dont need anything more than a 5 speed with the kind of powerbands moddern cars have.

F1's have 7 speeds so they can stay in their tiny powerband. Plus F1 engines are entirely difforent then what your going to find in a street car. Dont they rev to like 18,000 rpms or some crazy **** like that?.

The point is, less shifting is better.

thats not totally true, less shifting isnt always better, thats why we have gone from 4speeds to 6speeds
