I would begin by doing what he did. Just take your car in and say: Here is the problem, it's under warranty, i would like it fixed. If they don't honor it, then yes i would either print the OP's out or borrow one. good luck!

Just tell them your going to call Nissan North America. Its the secret weapon.

I finally decided to give this a try last week, since my S13's lap belt would refuse to retract.

I first called Maroone Nissan which is the biggest Nissan dealership in South Florida. I spoke to someone in their service department and explained to them the situation and I told him that the S13's seat belt's had a warranty for the life of the car. Dude told me that I was mistaken, that seat belt's on all Nissan vehicles only had a ten year warranty. The guy sounded a little arrogant, so I decided not to argue with him and told him "alright" and hung up.

I then immediately got online and searched for Nissan of North America's phone number, turns out they have a local office right here in South Florida. I talked to their representative and he told me that "yes" the S13 had a warranty for the seat belt's for the life of the vehicle. The guy even set me up for an appointment at another local Nissan dealership, Bill Seidle Nissan. Really nice guy at NNA.

I went in the next day to Bill Seidle Nissan. I spoke to a guy at service named Alex. He told me again that it was under warranty, and that I would be charged nothing . He did the paperwork for me and let me know that it would take 2 weeks for the parts to come in from Japan, and that they should be here by the first of January and that they would give me a call to drop off the car.

I have my copy of the work order in the glove box, I'll take pics of it later tonight. Now I'm just waiting for the 1st so I can drop the car off.

Summary:

Maroone Nissan sucksBill Seidle Nissan rocksNissan of North America rocksIan rocksNICO rocks

Went to the local Nissan dealership with paper in hand to get my passenger side lap belt replaced for free. After about 10 minutes of them trying to BS me about how it was not covered, I pretty much pulled out my paper work and showed them who was boss. Walked out of there with an appointment to get them replaced when the parts come in next Monday. WINNING!!!

Does the lap belt count cause the spring broke on mine but I removed it so I guess the voids warranty I put the lap belt part of a 4 point harness in so I felt better while driving

Someone needs to bring a heavily modified 240 to the dealer and tell them that it is real stiff and that the engine makes weird noises. Glad to hear the warranty is still in effect!

February 2013, and I just got my 92 240 automatic seat belt repaired. Motor was moving slow, not failed but on its way. The only part that is unavailable us the track. Dublin Nissan gave me a great experience, had a great lounge and shuttle, and even washed the car (I guess they all do that - I never go to the dealer!) If your driver motor is running slower than the passenger motor, don't be shy, call your local dealer before they run out of parts! :dblthumb:
