Then, find out where you need to launch at to achieve that. if you are running 272 step 2s then maybe your peak torque is at 6k. If so then you are probably landing in your peak torque range. Especially if your 60 fts are so good.

As far as tire size, 26s will require you to launch at a high rpm like you have discovered. with some 24" or 24.5" tires you will be able to launch at a lower rpm and maybe not be popping rocker arms.

I will say of the two cars that I have heard of popped rocker arms on, neither one of them were launching. I was riding in one of them and the owner was feathering the clutch in 1st gear.

I have a friend with a 586whp RB (RBTally) who posts here that launches around 6k with 26" slicks but he has more torque being that it is an inline 6. he went 11.11 at 127mph with a 1.65 60 ft.

As far as DG, i'm not sure where he launched at but I know it wasn't 7k. His technique is the same as mind where you "land" right before peak torque.

BTW, what was the time posted in the video??? It looks like you were spinning quite a bit. What air pressure were you running in the tires?

Here is a setup similar to yours. This guy is running 26" MT Streets with 350whp. I think his 60 ft time was 1.6x. He was launching around 5500-6k..

350whp = 11.71et

Here is the RB i was talking about.

I think the size tire may be one of my problems. I was thinking of going down to a 24x8.50 but was not sure I wanted to spend the money to just spin all the may through second gear because of the width, but I think that it will help. We only did a safe street tune on the car with the new cams in it right before it broke at the track. Before that I was running the stock cams making 473 whp but was only running the et streets. I haven't run the slicks yet this year. With the added horsepower and trq it's a good possibilty that the 26x10's may work better with more horsepower. I guess I will have to try it out.

The time in the video was 11.74 @117. It was at the beginnig of the season with around 360whp but I was running the et streets and not the slicks. It was the second pass we had with the new setup, still stock cams.

Yeah, I believe it was spinning so much there because I was running about 23 lbs of boost off the line because we hadn't go the 2 step dialed in yet. that was at 12psi in the tires.

Also, doesn't RB talley run a larger wheel than a 15"?

16" mustang wheels with 26" et streets. the car that went 11.71 was not using a two-step, while rb tally was.

the rb car had a lot more potential, 10s easy but his turbo in my opinion was too large as you can hear it falling out of boost between shifts.

I'm sure you will get things straightened out. It will be exciting when you do. Make sure to include a videographer when you go.

I think the height of the sidewall on the tire plays a large part on the amount of rpm fall that is involved in the launch due to the wall stretchingon the slicks.

Hopefully everything will turn out well. And I will be sure to get the next one on tape.
