Hey! Quick question, would you happen to sell the radio brackets and the single din pocket?

Sorry, I do not sell the brackets. I have pockets that work, but you might as well get both from the dealer or online.

Vizualogic only makes kits for the 2008 Maxima..... no 2009 yet. I will check on a bypass for the factory screen tomorrow.

Thanks,

Toby,

I have a Alpine ida-x100 and these JL Audio Component speakers that you sold to me that were used by one of your techs or whatever....Anyways I'm selling my 240sx but keeping the audio and putting it in my 350z that has the bose setup. I'm wanting to keep the back speakers and the sub and thinkin i'd need an am amp for the speakers if I'm wanting to use the bose amp for the sub. Any recommendations on an amp or if that should even be done? Also any clue of a good spot for the ipod wires since there is no glove box on the Z???Thanks for your thoughts and opinions!

How much do you want it to rock? I would suggest ditching the rear speakers all together. They are in absolutely the worst location possible, and you won't hear them over the JL's if it's tuned properly. You will reach the distortion level of those BOSE far before the JL's. So you would have to limit your volume accordingly for the BOSE, and not come close to reaching the full potential of the JL's. So basically the BOSE would drag the JL's down with them.

The best scenario for what you have and to add to it would be your JL's, a JL Stealth box and a nice powerful 4-channel(Alpine, JL etc.) to run all of it. The BOSE sub is bad to say the least, but if you are strapped on cash, then just run it off the rear channels of the 4-channel instead of the Stealth box. However, we would want to check and see what the impedance is of that factory BOSE sub. Anything below 3 ohm is going to be a problem for the 4-channel bridged. I just did a full system on a 350z last weekend..... I could of measured the impedance of the sub had I known.

Edit: Oh yeah, I would simply run the iPod cable to the center console armrest area.

Thanks for the input. I'd love to do the stealthbox but that's a bit out of my price range...when you say ditch the rear speakers do you mean to get different ones or to just leave the space empty??I will, atleast while cash is limited have to do something to run the JL's and the sub I guess. Would it be easier to run the sub off the factory bose and do a 2 channel for the speakers, or a 4 channel for the whole setup? I do want it to sound really good, since I spend a lot of time in the car, but am far from being able to afford that stealthbox setup right now....

No problem man. I totally understand about the lack of cash flow. Most people just assume I have loads of money, but I save and spend my money wisely. I really only have my one hobby.... my car. I would still recommend a 4-channel for the fronts and sub. That way nothing is mismatched and you will have full gain control over everything. Yes, I was implying you get rid of the rear speakers entirely. The nice thing is you can always add the Stealth box down the road and not have to change anything else.

Thats the plan! LOL...but I am the same way. My car is my hobby, but I have to stay practical and within a budget. So speaking of budget, how much would it be for the amp itself and also for everything if I was goin to do the install myself (for the amp to be hooked up to the speakers etc., install the speakers, and install the Alpine headunit)

Do you want an entry level amp to try and save some money, or are you wanting a better amp that will sonically be better than the entry level? I would recommend either a Alpine or JL Audio..... so even their entry level stuff is good.

Worth the money to me to buy something better as long as the pricing doesn't become outrageous to the point where I'll become broke from buying it....

Well, for the JL HD600.4 you would be looking at $599 shipped. That will be the best amplifier I have sonically. It's also a very small chassis amplifier at a big 150 watts x 4. It's also a fully regulated power supply, so it will output full rated power all the way down to 11volts.

Next up would be the Alpine PDX 4.150. Same power in the same small chassis, but not fully regulated. So it is rated full power at 14.4volts. It sounds very good, but not quite as good as the JL. This is the exact one that I run in my 240. It would run $499 shipped. We sell tons of these at the shop. They are a nice balance of quality and performance at a respectable price.

That sounds great....my question is this...Will this amp still work down the line if I was to get the stealth box? I guess my thoughts are I want to buy something that I'll still use later. Since you recommended the not using the rear speakers, I figured that I would need an amp for the JL components up front (something like the PDX-2.150 or the slash 300/2v2) and just use the bose amp for the bose sub until I could afford the get the stealthbox and amps for it since I know that's something I'm going to do down the line

I planned on you using the front channels (2 x 150) for the front JL's. Then bridge the rear channels( 1 x 300) for the Bose sub and then the Stealth Box down the road. The only disadvantage to this is if you want more than 300watts for your sub(s). If so then you would need a 2 channel amp and a more powerful mono-block amp. I was trying to save you some money by only having to buy one amp to run it all.

My thought was to just get everything set up enough so that I'd be set with the speakers. I do know that I'd want the Stealthbox down the road and assumed needing a bigger amp for its two subs. I was thinking of when I can afford it just buying the stealthbox and bigger amp together.

Well then, you would be looking at $299 shipped for the Alpine PDX 2.150.

There any way I could get a total estimate for everything I'd need to replace my cd player with the new one, hook up the speakers, the amp, and stuff needed to keep my bose sub and amp?

I have a 2003 350z touring with the bose sound system. I'm wanting to put the Alpine ida-x100 HU into it, the JL Audio C5-650 component speakers, and that Alpine PDX 2.150 for the JL's. Then anything I would need to hook the Bose amp up to the Bose sub.....

May try to do some of this on my own....

You will need a dash kit, Bose interface, 8 gauge amplifier kit and the PDX 2.150

You are looking at $399 shipped for everything.

Amplifier went out today! You should have received a tracking # from Paypal. Only thing is I did not have a 2.150 in stock, so I upgraded you to a 4.100 at no charge. This way you can use it as a 4 channel or bridge it down to a 2 channel at 200 watts per channel.

Thanks,

Toby
