You can easily add a sub and amp to your factory setup. A simple hi/low converter will turn your high level speaker wire signal into low level RCA signal. If you are wanting more volume and better sound quality, then I would recommend replacing your mid/high speakers and add a 4 channel amp to power them. If you know you want to do both, then I would recommend a 5 channel amplifier to run it all. The Alpine PDX 5 is a heck of an amplifier in a very, very small chassis.jpeters270 wrote:I have a 2006 M 35 (Base model) and the sound system seems week, no bass response. What do you have as far as a sub that I can interface with the stock sound system? Will Canging the speakers in the doors help as well? Do I HAVE to add a clean sweep to make this happen?Thx
I have been waiting for Alpine to get back from their Christmas/New Years break. I need to call them to see what my pricing is on the 203/P1 combo. That combo is brand new and I don't have my dealer pricing on it yet. So I don't know what kind of deal I can give you yet. I will know this week though.R350Zz33 wrote:hi Broadfield i have a 2008 350z enthusiast and i was wondering if you can help me with a nice set up. im looking for a head unit with navi and ipod connectivity with later options to add a backup cam.replacement for the speakers behind the seats not sure what size they are and 2 10" subs im getting one of those custom boxes off line that go right under the strut bar i also need amps to power them and all the accessories. im looking for a cheep but good system if u could let me know what u could do that would be great. i also have a question on remote starts i have one on my z and the installer dident put an antenna the guy said nissan already has the antennas installed and i was wondering is it run through the radio antenna because i put a shorter one on and to start my car i have to be within 15-20' so remote start is not really worth it on it.you can email me at [email protected] thx in advance send the info there plz incase i forget to look here.i like alpine's IVA-W203/P1 because it can work with the steering wheel controls. thats a must the head unit has to work with the steering wheel controls

I modified 350Z pedals to fit.brizanden wrote:hey really off topic i know, but what kind of pedals do you have?thanks
Not a problem! But the enclosure is going to be 3 times as deep as the spare tire well. If you want something to sit flush with the floor and not stick up at all, you would want to do a W5 series. Basically a squashed down W6 that is only 2.5" deep. I will be using a 13W5 in my coupe once I finally decide to do a sub in it. So the box will fit flush with the floor. The sub will be counter sunk into the top of the enclosure. I will make a custom grill to protect the sub that will fit flat underneath the trunk carpet. So all said and done everything will fit under the trunk carpet and you won't even be able to tell that it's there.240sx_NyC wrote:hi, im wondering if you can make a custom enclosure for a 12 inch w7 in a hatch. i want to place it where the spare tire would be.
The W7 will definitely outperform the W5, but it is mega deep. So you would have to build the floor up quite a bit..... would look kind of funny. But I'm not sure what look you are going for...... you may not care if it looks goofy as long as it sounds the way you want it to sound. I personally would not do it in my own car, but that's just me. I would want the sub enclosure to be flush with the original floor.240sx_NyC wrote:well i already have a w7 and i was wondering if you can build a platform the size of the trunk floor so the w7 would sit flush....or should i just get rid of the w7 and get something smaller?
What ohm load are you running from the subs? What subs are they and what is the impedance of each sub?deaftosociety wrote:broadfield i was wondering, if you had a good class d sub amp that will run about 900 watts rms something that runs pretty cool and wont zap my alternator too bad thanks man the amp im using dosent have enough juice for my subs so thanks
they are mb Quart rwe304 4 ohm dvc subs 500 watt rms 1000 watt peak for each sub thanks manBroadfield wrote:

Sorry, I forgot to ask how many subs?deaftosociety wrote: they are mb Quart rwe304 4 ohm dvc subs 500 watt rms 1000 watt peak for each sub thanks man
Well, that's going to prevent you from using a "standard" mono-block amplifier. The norm is a 2 ohm load...... you can wire your setup for either a 1 ohm or 4 ohm load. So that will greatly narrow down your options. Do you have any idea what you want spend? I have three lines of amplifiers that will fit the bill.deaftosociety wrote:2 lol swore i put that
