Yeah, Im planning on changing my exhaust in the future...and right now at the top of the list is BRM.

Your car sounds awesome...as stated before like a boxer engine....

...Which I hope is what mine will sound like (considering I am/was obsessed with getting a wrx )

the thing I like the most is, the sound is produced by a completely stock motor!

Very very cool. Sounds really good. I love the look of the dual tip. I think I might have to give greg a call. I hadn't seen a dual tip on an S14 until now (thanks cdlong) and I love it.

It would be nice if someone had some numbers to see what if any performance gains can be had with this system.

We got numbers between 7 and 11 hp IIRC. Hard to surmise anything from that though, since our test cars were over 15 years old and had questionable or unknown maintenance histories.

What does IIRC mean? Are these WHP?

Therefore, if the above statement is acurate, a car that has been properly cared for might see more numbers.

You can get a 22 inch resonator with the Stainless system, I got it on mine, but the resonator itself isn't stainless. I got my 3 inch dual tip system with a 22 inch resonator a day or two ago, and I can't wait till this weekend so I can install it. I'll post up pics and clips when it's finished.

What are the specs on your car? Is it stock?

The 14" res that came with mine is stainless. I didnt want any part of the system rusting out on me.

My car's drivetrain is completely stock right now, but I wanted something that would be good for now and good for when I went with my RB swap. I too thought about part of it rusting out but I honestly don't think it's gonna be that big of an issue.

Sounds great. I saw an S13 fastback recently with an exhaust on it. I didn't catch the brand (he was driving opposite direction to me) but it sounded horrible. Like a cheap exhaust on a Honda Civic bad.

It seems that the exhaust is a wink link in the KA2DE. I would love one of these, but a tune up and repair is in order first. There is a nasty rattle, but I am pretty sure it isn't the timing chain, I think it is the exhaust. Similar to Maximus Nismo's.

Quick Q AZhitman, I see on the BRM webpage a section for high flow cats, but it is for now a broken link. Do you sell high flow cats for the 240SX?

I got my BRM installed Saturday morning while I was at work(spent all evening Friday trying to get the OEM one off but the studs to the cat would not BUDGE). It's deep. You fire the sucker up, and you can automatically hear a difference. It DEFINETLY does not sound like any of the hondas around here w/ exhaust. I have a stock KA24DE and I ordered the 3" Stainless steel with 14" resonator and dual tip muffler, and it looks real close to stock(except shiny and doesn't droop down), and I can definetly feel a little bit of a pull from 3500 rpms up to redline. Under 3500, it feels the same as before, but my butt dyno feels an improvement in the powerband for sure. I bet with headers and intake it would sound even better then it does now. I'll post pics up hopefully tonight when I get home.

Maximus - Could you take a picture of your exhaust at an angle like cdlong's third picture?

I'll take the pic tomorrow and update this post.
eddiec wrote:what size muffleer is that in the very first pic, the single tip canister????
that's 4 inches. doesn't look it cause of the light angle/road thing.
Atomic-S14 wrote:did a video clip of "drive by" ever get posted?
Drive by has not yet been shot because my camera cannot get a good picture or sound from such a distance. I need to borrow a camcorder from someone soon.

Just a note guys. I think my overall gas milage has improved because of this exhaust. I used to average 320 miles per tank. Now I'm getting 340- 345 per tank. That's a very nice unexpected improvement. I can only image what will happen once I change the plugs, wires, gas filter and oil this month.

Now that hte exhaust is done, I need to chage this damn CAT! It's gettign on my damn nerves! Before the cat is warmed up, the car sounds like a beast. But after it gets hot, it sounds like a beast with bees.

Yes they do. Although the hanger by the resonator is not used in my particular application. As stated before, I reccomend u spend the 16 bucks on ebay and get new hangers. It's worth it.
