Im ready to get a big brake kit..I know Brembo is some of the best on the market. I know, I know...they are overkill and I should just do the 300zx ones....I've heard it a million times, but I still want them. Also, I may get some Skyline Brembos for the rear. I just had a few questions about the GT Big Brake kit before i place my order...

1. My front wheels are 2 piece 18x9 Hi disk +18 offset. The rotor is about 332mmx32mm....which is around 13inx1.25in. I measured the inside of my wheel...and its about 16.5 inches....will the big brake kit clear?

I will also be getting them from... http://www.raretrick.com/index...=5311

Thanks,Chase

P.S. The calipers will be silver!

You just want to get $3000 brakes to look at then? I wish i had your kind of money man. You should pay an engineer for the research to see if they'll clear the wheels

The brakes say they need 17 in wheel to clear. I have 18in...but its a 2-piece, so the actual inside of the wheel where the brake would go measures 16.5...

You should get a giant turbo and hollow it out so you wont have to deal with all the other un-bling parts associated. That way ppl will know that youre serious. Its impossible not to hate you after this thread haha

Yes, because you said this:

"I know, I know...they are overkill and I should just do the 300zx ones....I've heard it a million times, but I still want them."

So the only reason you would want them is for bling as you already acknowleged the fact that they are overkill over the z and with that the brembos are also $2000+ the cost of the z brakes. You obviously want some kind of recognition for your super-car brakes that were really only designed for hardcore track conditions and are overkill even if you did weekend autocross

Personally i would be ashamed and feel like a complete yuppie to have any 3000 dollar strictly performance part that everyone can see in sterling silver and not use it for what its meant for. But you didnt ask me so continue and i'll shutup. and to each his own i just got pissed off for a second i usually don't post my opinion like that i'm sorry i just jealous of your ability to spend money is all. Impeach Bush. end.

Its coo, i didn't mean it the way i put... "I know, I know...they are overkill and I should just do the 300zx ones....I've heard it a million times, but I still want them."

I also don't understand why its "impossible to not hate me after this thread".....just because I want to buy nice parts?

I just really wanted to see what these Brembo high performance brakes can do since money isn't an issue. I guess a bit less than half the reason is bling, but hey....who doesnt like it? haha....not my concern though really..

and IWannaS15: Thanks for the help...this is just what I was looking for!

Really, its impossible TO hate you after this thread.

Striving for nothing but the best is never a bad thing. They look awesome, but consider the other possibilities in that price range like 180fan suggested.

save yourself some money and get these

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT

unless you're just in it for the ricer look. the brembo gran turismo isn't even close to their higher end stuff anyways. if you're getting big brakes your tires better be max summer or better or it'll be a complete waste.

also be careful with raretrick they seem to be safe but take realllllllly long from lots of members reviews. check it out atleast.

i'll be getting ap racing front and rear. much cheaper than a lot of other companies.

brakes is one thing that can never be overkill. even with daily driving it may be expensive but just once if some crappy driver brakes out of nowhere and it saves your whole car from beign totaled... thats already worth it. and if not then building the car for better response is always a +.

Juujai: Ive oreder'd a few things from them...havent had too big of a delay yet...but thanks for the heads up! I thought about APRacing also...im not sure if it'd be possible to do a 4 piston setup all the way around?...

whiterps13: Thanks, I considered the GReddy ones, but i could never find any info/write-ups on em', so I never really found some user experience. If you have any definatly link me up...im interested!

Thanks for everyone else that helped me out....and SPIRONIUM, thanks, and no hard feelings here either.

Actually now...im thinking about Ksports...i came across them last night and they look like some really nice brakes.....all 8 pistons of em'!

i would just buy good rotors no point in buying the hole brembo kit waist of money.....its quite pointless unless your cars sitting in a showroom not moving because one day your $3000 brakes gonna go bad. Bling Bling

have you looked into the Wilwood big brake kit? Iv'e heard great things about it, and i think it might be a little cheaper than the Brembo's.

You need to talk to some hard core racers before you make a decision. I dont think many NICO members have experience with $3000 brake kits. Endless, AP, and Brembo all make great kits AFAIK. But I have no clue which can outperform the others or is the best for the price.

Good luck. I cant wait to see these behind your wheels...

Personally, I think once you past 4 pistons its all about the show factor and -EXTREME- conditions brakes will likely never see. Considering that, its all about the brand name .

Personally, Id rather rock the Endless over any of the competitors. I do like brand name ****, and to me they have the highest appeal and wow-factor when it comes to brakes.

The balls in your court...

id say youd be better off getting stoptechs

far less expensive than brembo (~$1,800 vs. ~$2,900) and are pretty much the same things

i would highly recommend avoiding the k-sports, 8 pistons is retarded...and if their coilovers are any indication theyre going to an invitation for a wrecked car

There's little support for these brakes here. My friend has a set of Endless Brakes on the Z. The pads alone are going to cost him $240. I'm afraid to hear what the rotors will cost.
