oh as far as I know, it is still a 1.3liter twin rotor. It is basically the same as the 13B-REW, but it has bot the intake and exhaust ports on the side housings.

Why would there be a new RX-7 with the 8 coming out?dif body style? Why wouldn't it just be a 9?

i heard that the rx8 was the starting ground for the new new rx7. it was stated that if the rx8 sucked then mazda would renig on the rx7. the new rx7 would look like the rx8 with some minor changes and an even stronger motor.

Ya it makes the like same power (247(8)vs 260(7, 92-98?) as the tt rx7 and it is NA, a turbo model is unlikely, Go to the mazda site through http://www.mazdausa.com, its really nice oh ya its displacement is 1.3l

Will the Mazda RX-8 and RX-7 be part of the Mazda Speed program? Not sure if you all understand but the Mazda Speed program is like the Ford SVT program. Not all dealerships will have access to sell the Mazda Speed products. Repoman and I went to look at the Mazda Speed Protégé and no dealership in Indianapolis had one. So we promptly drove to the Subaru dealership and I wound up buying a WRX. I love the look of the RX-8. Will like to see it in person.

I have very serious doubts that mazda would ever manufacture anything called an RX-7 again, the RX-8 is meant to be the successor. Finally something to keep up with the new 350z, not that it matters, the new lancer EvoVIII will walk over them all , unless mazda and nissan pull their heads out of their as.ses and start making some turbo models.

i thought that there was only the evoVII. an it wouldn't be called the rx7. think of in ways of the STI version of the wrx.it's not like they are coming out wit both cars at the same time. it's NOT COMING OUT YET! not until mazda gets reveiws on the rx8. like i said if the rx8 falls right on it's face, then the rx8 will not coming out. if it succedes, then the new rx7/upgrade rx8 will come out.

The lancer evo they're bringing over here will be call the Evo VIII. The Sti is a special different of the WRX, like the ITR is to the integra. But the RX-8 was meant to be the successor to the Rx-7, like the RSX is to the integra. I dunno, I doubt it'll fall on its face though, if its gonna be anything like the Xeven, then we've got nothing to worry about.

The word I heard on the RX7 is if it goes, it will be based on the Miata which of course is based on the 3rd gen RX7. So I figure a smaller version than the 3rd gen.

I am not crazy about the RX8. It has four doors. What is that about. I dont think it will do good in sales here in the US.

4doors=bring more people with you=lower insurance than a coupe, i don't know how insurance would classify an RX-8 though.

i think the Rx-8 is nice, i would like to test drive it if it ever comes here, and i hope for Mazda's sake, that the new Renesis rotary is as improved as they say it is. The suicide door thing is cool and it is pulled off well without the car looking like a sedan/box. The rumors of there being a convertible version is stomach-turning---it won't look right!

The looks are growing on me, i think i like the back-end better though. I really think the Mazda 6 and Mazdaspeed Protege are cool. As for the 6, i hope the awd/turbo model makes it to the states, that would be SUweet :D

Rock on Daunttless. I am wit ya on that statement.

As for the Mazda 6 that car is really nice. To bad Nissan didn't come out with a nicer looking Max like mazda did to the 626. That New Maxima is so damn ugly. What's going on, time to kill the engineers at Nissan.......

That is entirely wrong. The EVO VIII is the successor to the EVO VII. Every 2 years or so Mitsubishi releases a new model EVO (they produce a limited quantity of each version and once those are all gone they make a new one). Rather than retrofitting the EVO VII to comply with strict US standards and since they had already sold many VII's, Mitsubishi decided to design the next phase of Evolution with an Americanized version. I am sure it is different than the EVO VIII they are releasing in Japan (I hear rumors the jspec could reach 350hp, though I think it will remain around the 300hp rally cars are limited to), but the body style and inner workings are different than the VII (thank god, the 7 was hideous as far as Lancers go). They will most likely release the EVO IX here in 2 years (probably with a 6 speed!) as they have done since the early 90's when the first Evolutions came out. Of course, they are probably going to start making more of each model because I plan on an Evolution being my first new car purchase once I finish college and get a decent job, as I am sure many other Americans from the Gran Turismo generation are. (I am trying to secure a 240 to hold me over!).

BTW, you can find out more about this at the unveiling of the Evolution at the LA Auto show video available at Mitsubishicars.com

Its hideous. Almost all new cars coming out are. Rx8. RSX. Neon SRT. Tiburons. They're all hideous. Wouldn't pay money for any of them.

the side placement on the new rx8's rotary makes NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE! the 13b was so "bad" on fuel because there would be an overlap where the exhaust and intake ports would be open at the same time. this would cause exhaust gasses to be carried over to the intake port, which would then take GLOBS more of fuel at lower RPM to cause a proper ignition. the new rx8's motor's exh/intake close at seperate times, so itll eat way less fuel and should produce a lot more low end torque plus have that DEEP THROAT sound we all envy. there is no way mazda will bring over a factory turbo rotary again since one detonation blows the motor. mazda lost thousands of dollars on motor warranties. anyway, the new rx8 will be amazing, and so will it's 8500 RPM fuel cut off! :)

as to the 2005 mustang...

cool, yet incredibly hideous, right now I don't think the market is ready for it. But in 2 years... who knows

I love vintage mustangs but I am not sure about this car.

I dont really know where my argument is going..
