1999 QX4. Brake lights would not turn off. Found out there is a Teflon "button" that the brake light switch actuator rests on at the normal "off" position for the brake lights. Bought the "button" at the dealership and it cost $15.03.

I replaced the button (hard to get into to replace the thing - space is very limited) and all is well.

Has anyone else had this issue and did you use anything other than the factory Teflon "button"?

I found this older posting: qx-4-bushing-above-brake-pedal-t601578.html

Then, someone in the q45 forum found some cheaper sources and substitutable part numbers: brake-lights-staying-on-98-y33-q45-t620296.html
