Hi everyone. I have a 2001 QX-4 and noticed that the tail lights were staying on. After investigating I saw that there are two switches just above the brake pedal. The switch is activated on/off when the brake pedal is pressed. One switch deactivates the cruise control and the other activates the brake lights.
The bushing that activates the switch has deteriorated. After trying to temporarily glue the bushing back in place it didn't hold. Later I cut a golf tee (don't laugh) so that it fit the same way the bushing did.
Does ANYONE have a clue a) where to find a replacement, b) what that piece is called and c) tips on how to replace it? I admire mechanics because I can either fit my hand at the spot OR see it--not both!
Thanks in advance!
