here is some pics of the nugget

when i got it it had a stock ca in it with rb25 turbo ( teh worst) 2.5" dump going into the stock 2" zorst  microtech, supra intercooler and 10 psi boost

the car run like **** cause it had never been properly tuned as in port mac there is no close dynos,

so 1 first thing i did was get it tuned, we did a run and it made 98kw on 10 psi bwahahahaha wat a nugget, so with a full tune on 15 psi we got 135kw out of it, not to bad i spose

ran around like that for a little while, went threw one box then 3 days after the box blew the turbo died on me, so decided to go big :D

turbo is a garrett gt2876r .64 rear housing rated a 480hp

new 2540 and old t03

its sitting on a custom equal length 3mm thick steam pipe manifold, with full 3'' system from turbo back

this is from underneath the car looking at the manifold

this is wat it looked like once the turbo was fitted

haha this is the 2876 and a stock t02 turbo of my old et

fullboost at 1500rpm FTMFWYO

so i drove around with the new turbo on and 3'' zorst for a while untuned and a dyno come was on so chucked it on and made 177hp on 12 psi and leaning out,

so after that i put it on the dyno and put some fuel into itso it wasnt leaning out and put 15 psi threw it and made 160kw, wasnt to bad at all, turbo comes on nice and strong,

but it was time to ditch the old **** cooler st up and go a decent size and style of cooler

580x180x65 2.5" outlets, picked it up for $95 from ebay, wat a score

i mounted the cooler in a V style as to get a thermo fan on the radiator as the one before it was in front of the cooler and heating things up

this is the old ghay set up

these are pics from when the pipes were getting made, all alloy 2.5" pipes with hidden sard R2D2 BOV under headlight

this is wat we got out of it with a full tune on 16 psi 174kw

some pics from a freaky friday nite

^^^ that pic is hard, looks like a 4wd launch lol

the turbosmart duel stage i have cant control it any more, so eboost is coming very soon along with some spitfire coil packs, as going over 17 psi was blowing out spark, will be geting colder plugs to morro as well

but im more then happy with how it turned out,

since that tune i get spit fire coil packs fitted and they are going good with a set of 7 heat range plugs

other mods it has

suspension and brakes:every rubber bush that can be replaced with noltech or nolathane bushes was, lowered with lovel low springs with some sort of pedders strutstock brakes with bendix advance B pads ( have gtir calipers to get fitted)

engines13 ca18detgt2876r3" turbo back zorstgtr 444cc injectorswalbro 500hp fuel pumpmicrotech mtx8 re programed for lt8 lap top tuning ( one of the last mtech ever did)580x180x65 cooler with alloy pipingsard r2d2 bov

this is wat is getting done to the car as we speak. full rebuild, blown the head gasket and kinda got out of controll

got me manifold and dump pipe back from procoat and i can not recomend this guy enough, the job is 2nd to none and can talk for ever about any thing

her is some pics of the painted tappet coverslooks damn sex if you ask me

5 weeks in the waiting but there finally here. with custom compression ratio along with a light weight pully kitone of the things i'm am doing is modifying the intake manifold. its a 3 piece manifold. the 2 runner spacers had the nissan ECCS that had little butterflies in 4 of the 8 runners to promote velocity and giving greater low end torque. but it also chokes the system. so i have removed and the butterflies and rods, and while doing this i found that the 2nd half of the runners were restricting the flow because the casting was **** house. so i attacked it with a dremal and hopefully it flow just that little bit better now

the casting protruded about 1.2mm each side on the runner and i also sharpened up the divider in the middle as well as it was pretty flat. there not quite finished just yet but wont be long off

so i got rid of it this is wat the turned out like

but when i was trial fitting them to the plenum i found that the factory was very sloppy with matching up the runners, so ill be grinding that out as well to match up

i also got a inline oil filter for the turbo so when its first kicked over there is no **** that goes through the turbo and farkes it.it was a bit of a ***** to make as braided hose dosent bend quite the best, but its all done now and feeds through the manifold runners

Nice build up mate, make sure you bung those holes where you removed the butterflies

I won't talk about the butterflies and the benefits, however did you check on the flowbench to make sure they were really a restriciton? Have you upgraded the valves in the head?

I will be watching this space, good work...

Dammit! I was going to do my motor in black wrinkle. It looks as great as I thought it would, sucks that you beat me to it though. Back to the idea well.

Looks real good all around, must be a blast to drive.

Fantastic read!

You have done exactly what I did to the intake manifold. I thought I was looking at the same pictures for a minute! It will be great to see what kind of improvement it makes when you slap it on a dyno.

yer i know some people say that it gives you low down torque etc but i dont mind abit of lag.

i havnt stuck it on a flow bench as im not made of money and i have other areas of the car that i could spend iti dont thing there will be any diffrence as the head isnt ported. they way i look at it is that its not going to make things worse so i may as well give it a shot and i might just be suprised. im only going for 220-230kw so not a huge figure

yer its a fun car to drive. its great for changing lanes with no warning lol

Even with all the butterflies removed, and the intake manifold ported like that my CA still starts to make boost fairly low, like 2500rpm on the GT28. I have never once gone back and thought "man, I wish I kept those things."

If you haven't plugged up the holes in the lower manifold that the butterfly valve shaft left, I took some pictures of when I did mine, and posted it all on here. Should have the size bolts and everything you need to do it.

thats pritty laggy for a gt28mine is a 2876r not the 71r and i get possative boost at 2100 and full 20psi at 4000-4100 and i had no head work at all and had 150psi ish across all four

with the higher compression and 40tho over size i hope to get 20psi under 4000rpm

with the butterflys i got the holes welded on each end and have just left the ones in the midel as you cant get a tig in there and i dont think i want to fu(k around with grub screws etc

made this the other day as well. wat a expensive little thing this was to make lol

another up date

so i got every thing back from the powder coaters. happy with the work but not to happy with the colour but it will have to do. the only problem i have now is to get the throttle body done as it has to be fully striped to get coated.every bolt has also been replaced with allen key high tensile bolts so it looks a lot nicer and easier to work onthe 2 barb fittings on the back of the plenum go the either side of the vacuumed block i have made up . cheers to siko for welding all the new fittings on :D

i got the tappet covers powder coated but the texture finish i was after wasn't any were near the same as the guy had so i'm going to get them re done again but with the proper stuff so it looks how i want it

also got my rear exhaust housing back as well. now the hole exhaust side looks farken sik

that is all the updates so far. getting all the s*** stuff now, waterpump, all the heater hoses and powersteering hoses etc. i have to get a new engine mount as the one i had was cracked. but it wont be to much longer now

kthxbi

i still have to work out if i can do the throttle body yet because of the internal seals it would have

Looks hot as hell with the color of the valve covers and the cam gears. What color will you paint the coil pack cover?

All i have to say is WOW! Awesome build dude. Someday mine will look like that!

You've put a lot of detail into it and it shows. There's a lot of well built CAs on this forum but this is one of the nicest cleanest CAs around. Awesome job.

PS too bad its in a FWD ... and not in my car.

Very very nice build there!!!!!

Just one thing, i was looking at your new harmonic balancer and noticed that its a 3 belt balancer which is for a RWD CA and the belts will be out of alignment since the alternator and power steering are on opposite sides. The FWD one is a 2 belt balancer. But please correct me if im wrong.
