If you have a plug and play KIT and connecting it directly to the OEM stock
H8 wire harness, this is really a very quick installation (10minutes).
You`ll spend more time removing clips on the wheel well and that little
airfoil screws (That thing that sticks out like a mini splash guard
underneath the car). I would suggest buying a good relay harness too, if
you are that guy who likes to turn the fog lights on all the time.
Our EX35 foglights are the easiest to put on since it is not covered by
anything at all. Once wheel well cover is removed, you`ll be able to see
the back of the bulb connector with huge space around it. One member
here noted that during HID Ballast placement, you have to place
it away from the bumper sensor to avoid false beeping....There is a good
space under the lowbeam headlight housing and use a lot of zip tie. We
actually didn`t use that tape that comes with the ballast kit.
FYI: If you have a blown headlight fuse, I know where the hell that fuse
box is. Infiniti manual didn`t show where it is 8 -20 . There are 3 fuse
boxes location for the EX35, but the manual only tells us 2 boxes. One in
driver side kick panel, 2nd one in front of the battery, 3rd one is that black
box next to the battery fender side. You don`t have to remove the
battery, but you have to remove that thing that covers the battery top and
side. Also, I`m not sure if our stereo has code ? Is it true that when we
remove the negative battery cable and reset the radio, we have to call
INFINITI for code and pay them for small fee? The installer used a
different ground instead for my wire harness.
This is my first Infiniti and I find it a lot harder to install simple things like
BULBs. Even the rear wiper doesn`t have instruction on how to remove it?
That license plate bulb is also hard to replace, I have a wedge LED and
couldn`t install it there either.
BTW: It was very foggy last night here in WI, snow and ice are thawing
about 50F . I went home using the LOWBEAM HID 6000K, this thing is
bright and seems like I don`t need a fog lights at all bec. it cuts thru the
fog way better than my stock LOWBEAM with stock foglights on at the
same time. I haven`t tried the HID Yellow FOG that I have since, our ex
fog has a reflector type. I will only use it if needed since cops here will
definitely hasn`t seen one like this yet.
