I bought a 93 240sx hatchback today :biggrin: It was 600 bucks has a 5 speed swap in it with a s14 engine and transmission but has a spun rod bearing. It had alot of shi* in it but I cleaned it out today and is somewhat better. I don't have pics since its night out right now but I'll have some tom. It came with some 5 lug big rotors, pignose lip, q45 brakes, and I ffound some lugnuts in there as well :bigthumb: But I need an engine and slave cylinder. So if anyone on here has an engine or slave cylinder near Mooresville, NC hit me up!

Well a little update, I got a slave cylinder today and the line that goes from the clutch cylinder is not threaded long enough to fit in the slave cylinder so it leaks :frown: But I gutted it today no carpet just seats and center dash. I also relocated the battery to the trunk, well I had to buy a battery and then relocate it. And I got the downpipe and cat on as well. And put stickers on it! :gapteeth: Tom I am going to drop the oil pan and shi* and see in there. Get some rod and main bearings and see if the crankshaft needs to be replaced or can be repaired.

And sorry no pics yet again I WILL have some tom I was working on it all day today :bigthumb:

Then maybe somebody will reply :frown:

I'd find a used KA from a junkyard. NC probably has quite a few. Probably get one for $150-250.

Alright guys I finally got some pics and some bad news, First bad news I pulled the engine today and took it somewhat apart and it needs new rod bearings, main bearings, basically a full gasket kit, fly wheel resurfaced, but I'm getting a stage 2 Spec package, crankshaft resurfaced, maybe new cams, connecting rods, and the car needs all the manuel harnesses. It had a 5 speed swap and that is good from what he said but I plan on getting another RUNNING KA and rebuild the other one. I want to rebuild it then forged pistons, eagle rods, brian crower cams, better crank, fel-pro gasket kit, and the tein coils, hks hi power exhaust, havent picked rims yet, 1 peice driveshaft, welded lsd, get my piggy lip on :biggrin: and go turbo sometime in the future. :bigthumb:

And the shell only has 78,000 miles and absolutly no rust, magnaflow catback, q45 brakes not on it though, big a** rotors, new megan racing lowering springs and oem struts they have never seen the road, and a perfect body. He did a s*** paint job but I like the color. And so far I have gutted the interior, my girlfriend painted the trunk flat black (ran out of money), relocated battery to trunk, cleaned up the inside, fixed some holes, new slave cylinder, new clutch line, 4 new fuses, all new bulbs in the lights, and painted the lights. It will take a while for me to get this to a actual build thread because Im only 16 and dont have that big of an income :frown:

But on with the picsssssssss :dblthumb:

Outtttttt :bigthumb:

And the bearings, they were paper thin and the oil pan had metal all over it so it got threw the whole engine :tisk:
I got it all for 600 bucks so not too bad in my opinion

What do you guys think?

Ok sorry guys for the no updates or anything. But anyways I got a couple pics of what I have been doing. First I got the black off those lights (I think I said that once already.) Then I fully finshed painting my interior floor. No pcs of that but I'm sure all of you know what a gutted 240 looks like with black floor :gapteeth: Also I painted one of my rims today ha only one because I had to go to work. But they are all going to be black I touched up the pignose :biggrin: and I sanded down a couple spots on the body and painted them. And alsooooo I cleaned up the front lights, they were dirty as hell.

P.S. Paint thinner is amazing to get s*** off of stuff :bigthumb:

But here is the picss

Alright guys I have some questions. I picked up a single slammer from a junkyard today. ha well I went to ywo junkyards and found this one. The starter went bad on it so i had to go back home and get my starter then drive all the way back, and anyways it cranked up no rod knock no spun bearing noise and no ticking. he said he bought it from some girl with a good running engine.

But my questions are will a single slammer hook up to a s14 transmission? I was told the SOHC and the DOHC have the same block setup but just diff heads so will it work? and also i got the harness with it but it was an auto my transmission in my car is a 5 speed. the harness on the engine i bought, will it work if my transmission is a 5 speed?

please help i need info!

The transmission will work fine. I would assume the transmission harness would work fine also.

Just curious, but why would you go from a dual cam to a single cam? Why not just get another dual cam?

twin cam all the way. why go to single when you already have a 93. I would prefer the s13 twin cam than the s14.

find an s13 dual cam. don't waste time fidgeting with that single slammer. single slammer ka belongs in the trash.

hey hey hey! Whats wrong with the single cams, ive never had a problem with them, and there pretty damn reliable for a kid who just wants to drive it untill he gets another engine and builds it, I see no problem here!

Im noob so correct if im wrong but i was told
SOHC=slightly higher torque
DOHC=slightly higher revs
but other than that not alot of difference.
DOHC has more potential mod wise though. But if your just toolin around in it while you rebuild the Dual then good find and good luck.
