first of all. The car is coming along nice.
and secondly I had a single for the longest time in my 90 but I always wanted a dual cam and its nothing against single cams but when i drove the dual cam it was like a world of difference in power. It just felt stronger but hey thats just my opinion.

Switching from a dual cam to a single cam will require the SOHC harness and ECU so make sure that is included with the SOHC.

Also, the tachometers are not interchangeable. If your tach worked with the DOHC it will not work with the SOHC. You will need one from 89-90.

BTW DOHC has more HP than SOHC, you will def notice it. You will not notice any difference in torque.

Nothing wrong with a SOHC but given the choice go with DOHC.

dual cam has more top end. what i meant is smoother top end. single cam are gone by the time you hit 70.
I have driven single cams and comparing the two is night and day.

I guess most people drove with a poorly running a dual cam to make such statements.

lastly, dual cam sounds amazing on an open exhaust comparing to single cams.

How much would it be to take it to a shop and get it done? andbody have a idea? if its cheap enough i was going to take it to a shop but if its to high i was gunna do it myself

Alright guys as of now it runs. I through another head gasket on it yesterday and it went to s***. I should have taken a pic and we got the time to TDC and it runs great, but anyways i took the power steering pump out and the ac pully. And I just have to tighten the belt, bleed the clutch line and put some trans fluid in. I also bought a ebay exhaust and test pipe. I will post pics when I get them.

Alright guys I got a couple questions. Well I got my car running and I drove it for the first time the other day I was so excited  . But... yesterday and today it wouldnt start, I had the charcoal canaster line plugged up and unplugged it and it would start perfect. Explains why I flew threw spark plugs.

But anyways now i drove it today and it ran perfect then took it home parked it and started it again for a friend he wanted to hear the exhaust and it made a horrible noise. Turns out ti was the timing chain. It lost tension and it was loose as hell. I guess I skipped time but now Me and a buddy fixed it had it perfectly on time and it did it again. But when the enfine cranks it sounds like a really bad metal on metal contact. I dont know what it could be. And I have to get new lifters as well all of mine are shot. But any ideas? maybe I need a new chain or tensionors?

I really need some help guys please dont let me down!
