why would my s15 sr20 be boosting 13psi. It boost 10 before 6400rpms, and keeps climbing, i let off the gas at 13. anyone else have this, also im not too fermiliar with the HKS BOV, but it sounds like it only blows off at high boost, other than that it sounds like backspin. anyone know whats going on?

bad wastegate actuator maybe, it could cause overboosting.

thanks, someone told me the exhaust may raise the boost but ive never herd of that, but it is a 3 inch apexi from the turbo back..... and it raises way past my comfort rpm, it was 13 at 7200 rpms. dont know what the redline is, but that was a little too high for me,

Dont take your motor stock past 7000 RPM. Please, last thing I need is to feel bad that someone lost an SR because he displaced a rocker arm or got main bearing damage from 5 weekends of 7500 RPM shifting.

Check your Wastegate arm. How is your WG line hooked up?

The BOV needs to be adjusted.

+1 keep it below 7k until you do a lil head work. I know the redline on the tach will say 7.5K, but keep yourself safe. And besides with that kind of turbo, you will have more than enough usable powerband under 7k anyways.

mine did the same thing, but turns out that the hose going to the waste gate came off.

what if you got the rocker arm stoppers, would hittin redline(7500) be fine? shouldnt you be able to redline since thats what the motor is set stock and i guess "safe"?

can u get a tuned ecu and have them set the redline to 7200?

the best redline is your foot. kind of like the old addage "my finger is my safety" (old rifleman saying I suppose)

If you drive smart, you shoudln't have to have a controlled redline IMO. Also, an ECU cutoff won't do anything to stop a miss-shift if that's your intention

SRs are notorious for loosing steam past 6500 in stock form anyways, so creeping up into the 7ks is meaningless for power production.

Rocker arm stoppers are not an "ok" to tach your motor out. They are there to reduce the effects of valve float. They do not eliminate it. They also try to help keep rocker arms in their places, but again, they are not a guarantee.
