Just wanted to let everyone know what I have dealt with since ordering over $3600 in merchandise from PJ (boostdesigns.com)

On march 16th I ordered a lot of parts including stage 1 kit with ka-t exhaust, clutch, flywheel and Enthalpy ecu.

I looked into buying a kit for quite some time with a lot of research. After deliberating I bought through boostdesigns based on good feedback and pricing.

I saw that the site advised of 2 to 3 weeks for shipping out the order and I called and talked to PJ before I placed my order to make sure of that. He assured me that the wait time would indeed be 3 weeks or less and no longer. This convinced me to purchase from his site.

I received my kit over time in several separate shipments. The first of the kit came in about 4 weeks after the order was placed. Eventually nearly two full months passed and I started to ask why the delay. PJ was very defensive on his email response back to me saying I should have bought another kit if I wasn't willing to wait. We had a few more emails back and forth before he decided to tell me when the next shipment was going out.

Here I am now with an incomplete kit and I cannot get a definate date on when the rest will arrive. I am still awaiting the Enthalpy tuned ecu which the car cannot run without. I told PJ in March that I would upgrade to the AEM EMS if he would let me but he denied the request stating that the Enthalpy had been paid for and was already being worked on.

If I can get my money back from Pay Pal at this point I am going to box everything and ship it back to PJ because this is completely rediculous. This order was placed before word came out that Enthalpy (Scott) was out of OBD2 to OBD1 harness conversions too.

I am not trying to tell anyone not to order from boostdesigns.com, but I certainly will not be recommending them to anyone else. Even for $1900 no turbo kit is worth waiting nearly 3 months for and that is all I have to say.

If anyone cares to see ALL email contact I have had with boostdesigns since the beginning PM me and I will be happy to provide you with the un-edited info.

Scott

I have heard of people waiting months for other kits also such as the Greddy kit. I don't think it is that big of an issue.

This is why I order 90% of my stuff through Enjukuracing.com

Not once have I been un-happy with the service. They got me my $1200 JIC Ti exhaust and $2800 greddy turbo kit to me in no time flat! Even if some parts are more $$ I like the no BS flag they hold.

If the seller says you'll recieve goods by a certain date, then the seller simply needs to supply the goods...really a mute point in my book.

Whether other people have waitied for any length of time is irrelevent...

Did you pay by credit card through PayPal? Thats probably the only way to get a full refund.

Sorry your enduring such a PITA.

Sadly, customer service has seriously declined over the last few years. I also buy my products through Enjuko simply for the service alone. I'd rather pay extra for a decent product shipped on time and have great customer service then be lied to...

its things like this that push people to the DIY side and maybe even to wander ebay for vital parts of a turbo setup. I would hope PJ could post on this matter as this is one of the forums that he sponsors. I heard that they were merging and that almost all orders have been experiencing some delay like this but u said u ordered in march so im sure 3 months is more than enough time to get out XYZ parts.................

maybe you should stop taking orders for a little while...so you know....you can get back on track with things..continue with your orders that have already been processed so they can be dealt with. but even though it might hurt your buisness, maybe you can just start taking orders again when you know it's better for you and future customers.

we have high hopes from BD and i don't want to see it go down

but i have never owned a buisness and dont know of the consequences in details....just my input

You can go with a reputable seller that has good customer service and good turnaround times. I have had an awesome experience with IAP both in terms of customer service and turnaround times. The fitment of the kit was awesome and every time I called or e-mailed Mark, he was patient, kind, and very knowledgable in responding to my questions. It would be cool if everyone had the skills/tools/knowledge that allowed for them to create their own kit but not everyone's circumstances allow for that. We just have to do our homework and pool our info to maintain a good knowledge base to allow everyone to make the best choices for themselves.

I feel bad for you slip - You may have quite a bit longer to go "sadly" seeing as how my order was placed almost a full month before you and I experienced the exact same thing with parts trickling in here and there - the last things I got were the piping with fittings, waste gate and BOV - I would love to get my car ready to go but unfortunately I'm not getting to experience the glory.

I really tried to be patient about the parts getting to me. I waited the three weeks before I emailed to ask what was up. I hate to run my mouth about anyone's business, but it is forums like this that make or break an internet business and this is the reason we all need to research products and services before we make such a big purchase.

I don't know about any of you but it took me a lot of discipline and time to gather over $3500 to place that order. I even did a lot of research on several forums. Maybe I didn't read the right threads!

Choose Wisely everyone.

I too had a similar experience with another company (which my story is posted on here somewhere) and I thought I did some research before spending my $3600 ($700 still owed to me), but it is good to know that you can post your stories here for others to educate themselves. Sorry to hear about your situation...

I'm certainly not involved in this in any way but to reply to someone a few posts up saying that even greddy has delays. that may be true sometimes but I have just received their kit for another car and it came on time and day discussed no issues, packed well, decent instructions.(don't really need anyway) but maybe for the KA-T it's different.

Yea but the SS kits may not be what some of us are looking for. From what I read and correct me if I'm wrong their kits are decent for low boost. But if you put any stress they will be worthless.I think they are ok to about 250ish hp then after that you'd be pushing your luck. But look at what you spend so you get what you pay for.Maybe I'll get the kit and see how much it will hold before *poof*

Build your own kit. Just do it. I HAVE ordered from BD. 459 bucks for SuperTech Pistons. Took me a little over 3 weeks (23 days) to get them and the e-mail response was poor. Oh well, I got them and the car is going into the shop. The turbo manifold I ordered was poor quality too, but I am willing to let that go on account of it just "slipping by" quality control. My suggestion is for people to make their own decisions. In the end however you will be more satisfied with building your kit like I did a little over 2 years ago.

Okay guys, just to let you know whats going on with all of this:

As far as this thread (and ones like it), please only post comments (either negative or positive) if and only if you have direct experience with the company. ...If you are or have been a customer. Any "bandwagoning" posts from non-customers will be deleted right away.

As far as Boost Designs itself, the NICO mod/admin team is well aware of what is going on and please be assured that we are currently discussing it and will do everything in our power to help.

Thanks guys!
