I had a MB hood emblem on my Ranger for ages. All I did was epoxy a thin fridge magnet (not even rare-earth) to the underside. The magnet was thin enough that the emblem sat almost flush with the hood, so no airflow could get under it. It survived freeway speeds multiple times. Eventually, it either fell off or was stolen--one day I noticed it was missing.

I'm sure he made the comment looking to rustle some feathers. One person doesn't like NICOclub. There's what? 200k that do? This is no big loss. I say f*** 'em.

Like, people younger than, say, 20?

I'm all for the self-throat-punching though. Proceed at will.

Do it REAL hard, and make sure you have some Gorilla tape handy.

All the emblems on my M5 are shaved off. I figure the people that have the ask about what type of car it is wouldn't appreciate it, and the ones that do appreciate it already know what it is.

So I always leave the garage without my roundels.

The difference in mindset of the average BMW enthusiast and average Nissan enthusiast is pretty well demonstrated in the words we use for our respective brand emblems. The BMW fans use the amazingly pretentious-sounding "roundel." Meanwhile, Nissan enthusiasts call ours "chrome hamburgers."

Don't get me wrong...I love Bimmers. But I'd never call my badges roundels. Anyway, BMW's are clearly crash dummy symbols.

I would drive a BWW M3 but it would get gutted, all emblems would be shaved and the whole thing painted jet black with the fattest gold BBS rims I could mount. Nose in the air types don't impress me.

Has anyone called out the guy on 240gen? It seems kinda silly to make a reference like that unless he was trying to get attention from us.

What's even worse is he's from my area. Although his FB says Worthington, if I see his car in Butler I'm ripping off that stupid a** gorilla taped emblem and stick a NICOclub card in place of it..

See if he bad mouths NICO again. :chuckle:

When I told Holli about this story originally she asked if there was anyone in the area that could "check to make sure the emblem was secure." I guess I can tell her we have an adhesives engineer in the area looking into testing.
