Torque is a great app, I use it on my droid phone and love it.

Due to my concerns about my emissions system, stinky catalytic converter etc. I purchased another droid app called "AIOBD Smog PreCheck". It works with this ELM327 unit, and is really great. There are some basic emissions checks that Torque will do, and another good app I tried called "OBD Doctor", but this Smog Check App is much more sophisticated and in-depth, it runs pretty much the same OBD Emissions test as the required Provincal and State test.

The test takes about 10 minutes, if you aren't at operating temp it waits until you achieve the minimum temp. It tests at idle, and tests at 1500 rpms which requires you to hold 1500 for a good 60 seconds. There are at least 20 parameters that it checks, and at the end it gives you a pass/fail grade with a confidence interval - its a great pre-test prior to going for an offical state-required emissions test, or to see if you emissions systems is working properly.

Mine passed with a 70% confidence interval....I'll test it periodically and see if it changes over time. This app is available at the Google Play store for sure, I'm not sure about Apple.

Just came across this video and thought I'd share since he talks about the advanced parts of the Torque app.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I was curious, I just got a 2012 Nissan Sentra SR and it's got the CVT....according to the manual there's a way of hooking "CONSULT" up to "check the life" of the CVT fluid....does anyone know if the ELM327 + Torque can get this information....? Or is this a separate connection?

I was doing some reading, and some said there's a seperate 'hookup' under the hood, in the fuse box where the "Consult" would connect to....?
