I was idling the car when I noticed a hissing noise and I noticed that my coolant overfill tank was brown. Also I checked the oil and it was of a watery consistency. Are there any tests or other indicators of a blown headgasket? Thank you very much in advance. I pretty flustered over this :[

Alright. It's fixable. Are there any comprehensive guides for replacing a head gasket? I've searched and I came up with how-to-change-head-gasket-on-ka24-t245686.html and people recommending the FSM and Chiltons Manual.

Should I go ahead and do a full timing chain kit while I'm at this? Because I was reading some guides and it's saying that I gotta drop the oil pan and it's a real PITA to do the timing.

It wouldn't be a bad idea if you have the motor out... Otherwise, yeah, it's a PITA
