I replaced the fan control amp/resistor thinking this was the problem but it didn't fix it.
I did the self-diagnose per the manual and 1st came up with a multiplex communications error between control unit and auto amp. I disconnected the battery for a few minutes then ran the self-diagnose again and came up with no fault.
My fuses are good. I removed the two blower motor fuses and put a volt meter across the terminals and could not get a volt reading at the fuse box. 0 volts...why are there no volts?

Connect the battery and see if your ammeter gives you a reading at the fuse box.

What shape is your alternator in?

Ok,,update. I checked the voltage coming into the blower motor and I am getting 14 volts with engine running and fan motor turned to ON ,,wouldn't this indicate that it is my blower motor and nothing else up stream from it?

Yep !!!
pull the blower and see if it's seized up.
But......
First you might try cleaning the connector to the blower and see if that helps.
Unless the armature brushes are completely gone I would think a fuse would blow if the fan bearings are seized.

Hate to be a bother but any tips on how to remove the blower motor? Or point towards a repair manual. Do I have to remove the whole casing or bottom half? If I have to remove the WHOLE casing it looks impossible.

from what i saw when i had that side apart to get codes for my check engine light it looks like its only those few screws on the bottom that come off and then it should just slid out. but im not sure. if you have the fsm it should tell you in there.

That was what I was asking . It looks like it comes apart top from bottom but the wires come through the casing on the UPPER half of the case. I don't want to remove anything that I don't have to.

Before you drop $300 plus....many times fans simply lockup/seize-up sp. ....I removed the cosmetic cover on passenger side just below the glove box (I think it was 3 or 4 screws) on a J30 that I had 4 yrs ago, located an exposed part of the blower, rapped on the blower w/ the handle of a screwdriver...and the fan started working again !! The fan continues to run today as I sold the car to a friend. Hope this helps somebody down the road. :rotfl

Sorry to steal the thread, does anyone know the part number or where to buy the accessory belt tensioner BRACKET. It bolts to the A/C compressor on the lower driver side and holds the accessory belt tensioner in place. Mine is bent to hell and is making a horrible noise like "THEM". I was in the HOV lane and some trash went under the car and whacked it. Any help is appriecated, I am just trying to not go to the dealer.
