Well it looks like might have to drive my sil80 for the winter but it gets friggen cold here, so i want to run a block heater, so it is easy on the car. should i just get one for a FWD SR20? and i see on the side of the block there is a big *** allen key on what looks like a freeze plug. is that where i would put the block heater? or do i have to bust out a freeze plug?

Block heaters dont do much.

They keep the engine just hot enough to keep it from freezing, Id look into oil pan heaters, they are used heavily in the Diesel market. They keep your engine oil at 90 degrees Fahrenheit using a heating pad glued to the oil pan. I used to drive a flatbed with an oil pan heater, it made warm up super quick. When I was still driving the S14 in the snow, I looked into them, you can get them in just about any size you can imagine.
