I recently leased a Nissan Rogue SL in black. I wanted to black out the entire car, meaning i wanted to paint all the emblumes and logos black to match the car, and make the rest of the grill black. i dont think i want to get rims though. My question is has anyone else done this, and will i have to pay when i turn it in because i painted the crome parts black?

why don't you ask dealer if you have to pay extra when you return the car?

hahah yeah man! i have the same thought, except i own my black rogue, once it warms up im going to debadge the entire rear end of the car, then paint the front grill and emblem black, rims black, front tints, and maybe headlight tints!!!!!! but it just needs to get warmer first!!

Yesterday I went to tint shop to fix bubbles in my front tint (20% to match rear factory) and decided to tint tail lights too with leaving the reverse light untinted. Well...tint shop could not do complete tail light so here's what they could do without painting. Actually like it this way more than complete black:

That's a unique bumper sticker you have there. Curious...what does it say?

Thanks guys. The sticker is "Sex instructor. First lesson free". This sticker is temporarily covering a scratch that some idiot hit me on parking lot. My plan is to install dual muffler like the one for new altima, cut the bumper on other side and repaint the whole bumper including that plastic on the bottom.

Not much...there's EddNog that installed a lot of good stuff in his rogue. So far I've done led tail lights, q45 headlights, tint on windows w/ tail lights and tint with letters Rogue on 3rd brake light. I used to have pioneer avic-d3 navigation but I sold it because it was too annoying to put a cd all the time so I kept original for a while but integrated xm radio. Integrated radar. Almost done with car-pc. That's about it.

Hey, Leo; I love what you did with the lights! But I bet you knew I would.

I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to meet up after the holidays; I was so busy!

Got any other plans for your car?

hey Edd. I just finished buildin car-pc for my rogue but didn't program it yet. In a few weeks I'm going to install it when it gets a little warmer. Plans....well I really want dual exhaust on my rogue. Planning to get at least muffler for altima and fit it in rogue. I was kinda busy too but I'm planning to go to nyc in april for my birthday.

well...if i get approved for financing then I want to get some good rims (~$2-3k) but otherwise I'm thinking about painting my rims gunmetal. Black rims in my opinion kinda boring because they loosing all the style and all you see is black spot. Any other color will show the design of the wheel so I'm definitely thinking about gunmetal but not black.

Last week I received black and blue tint from ebay. Well this is the first time ever I tint so I had to cut the reflector since I couldn't tint on a slope. Maybe I'll combine later with black tint. Temporarily I removed my q45 headlights and installed factory xenon headlights because of redesigning halo rings and putting some R8 leds. I replaced amber lights with yellow and after tint its green now:)

thank you. I almost completely de-badged it. Only Nissan logo and AWD letters left over.Senor. That was pretty easy to put tint on headlights except on a side where headlight have an angle with reflector I couldn't put it on nicely and that's why I had to cut it and keep it clear. Looks really blue at night caz I have 10000K xenon but this is temporarily. As soon as I finish my q45 headlights I'm going to put them back on and will sell these after that.

Looks good. Just like mine....20% except I added one coat to rear window 20% over the factory tint and now it looks like 5%. I'm almost never use back window since I started to drive big vans like sprinter which has no rear window at all. Just got my headlights redone with dark smoke.

leo,is it legal to tint that dark? i'm also wondering about the headlights. aren't you losing some of the effectiveness of the lights by tinting them, and again, is it legal?

btw, i'm not raining on your parade, i think it looks great!

no it is not legal. It is more important not how dark it is but if you get the same light output as without it. The guy on ebay who sold me this kit stated that I will loose about 33% of light. That's why I upgraded to xenon. It is simply this way. If I get a ticket I can always go to a cop after I take the tint off and get ticket dismissed. We'll see....

I don't know if this is lamn-x but it is not a bad material. I got a warning from a cop last week but no ticket so I guess I'm going to remove 'em this weekend.
