What do you guys think about 1) blacking out the rear part of the head lights, is it even possible? 2) blacking out the corner lamps, or the back of the corner lamps to match the head lamps.. Just a thought..

Black housing would be a good thought. I can't afford to replace the head lights, they are pretty expensive if you do mess up. I did some thing like that on my friends accord about 4 years back.

Yeah.. Kouki headlights arent exactly dirt cheap- but I think it'd be an interesting business venture..

id say find a set of cheapo aftermarkets or something to experiment with before you take off your lights. for what it costs to replace one i could have my car up and running right now.

Well do you guys think it's possible, and if so, would it look decent?

i dislike reflective backing on headlights. i hear for projector style lights like the kouki it can make your cutoff look crisper, etc...

id say if you can do it do it, but dont make it look cheap like something you bough off ebay. hope im not being too vague.

There was a Kouki with blacked out headlights at NOPI a few years back. I Liked it, he had that and those eye lids, looked very very mean.

He disassembled the headlights, and then tinted them. He said he had to use some special film for something about the heat from the head lights.

if youre doing flat black there are plenty of high heat paints you can use on the market... just be careful when youre sanding and priming and do a good job

So he 'blacked out' the front housing of the headlights? Just tinted them a little bit?

Are you also talking about blacking out the high beams as well to match the projector part? Or... are you just talking about blacking out the projector half, corners, and leaving the high beam free form part chrome?

EDIT: I just did a quick little photoshop, and it looked like crap. I think this is one of those things that you are only going to be able to tell if you like it not if you actually see it in person.

hmm i thought i had a picture of the front. well heres some pictures of the front of the car with a closer picture. also i tried blacking out the corner lamps but didnt look right. when i painted the relefctive part looked weird. i think im going to try tinting the reflective surfaces on the corners later. the cooling panel is a Grage defend GT cooling panel. cant remember the exact price but its some where in the 290-300.

It looks suprisingly better than I expected, but it still doesnt appear that different at first glance from a distance.

I'd probably have to see it in person.

Is the whole point of this so no one sees your car? Because IMHO your paint job or lack there of. (no, just stop at lack there of) I don't intend to be mean, but you've got a gorgeous car and you're talking about tinting the headlights when it really needs a nice paint job.

if you didn't want people to look at you, you could just a hyundai or something...

btw, if this forum wasn't so big i'd ask KDashy about those H.I.D.'s

and here's the web page..

if you can get the headlights to shine bright enough you're not gonna see a large redux in sight.

well im in the middle of doing all my work right now, just dont have engough time to finish it. i did a lot of body work on the car, so instead of having primer patches ever where i just primered the whole car. im going with a satan black anyway. the process of taking the headlight apart isnt that hard. i have HID retro in my lights. look at the projector. its off a MDX with a custom housingmade with a paint can, chrome bezel, dremmel and jb weld. i will have a set of TSX projectors im putting in some time soon,(when i get the new headlights to retro.) il do a write up on the whole thing with lotsa of pictures.
