Looks awesome! IMHO, that is the way they should have come from the factory.

Actually, those are vinyl overlays, not painted housings.

i waxed my g yesterday with my girl (i know, what an awesome girlfriend, one who wants to wax your g with you) haha but afterwards i was looking at the lights, and was wondering how a gunmetal color, or dark grey would look. it is a silver coupe by the way.

It'll look better than the stock silver/chrome color.

Any auto parts store should have the paint. I used a generic black exterior paint on mine. It turned out fine. And, once you get the lens apart, the inside comes apart. So, you'll only be painted the part that you need to. Just follow that DIY and you'll be fine.

ok, i think i am going to try and go with a high temp paint just to be safe, there hasnt been any blistering or anything on yours has there? i might go down the the auto store tomorrow and pick a nice gunmetal color that would go well with the silver infiniti color

oo whoever asked about blacked out taillights, you can get the Black light spray or a Overlay (which would be cop "friendly") in case they want to bitsh about it like always

Need some input. I'm going to black out the headlights this week, and while they're out I'm going to stick in some new bulbs as well. So what I need to know is....

1. What bulbs are good? Preferably clear, no sucky factory yellow bulbs

2. The inside of my headlights are getting fogged up and hazed. I'm going to take care of it when I open them up, but why does that happen, and will it just happen again? Don't really want to bother making headlights look awesome if you can't see them past haze.

First, are you sure that its the inside that's hazing up?

The only clear bulbs that look right, are PIAA Xtreme Whites, IMO. All of the other clear bulbs are going to look yellow-ish.

I'm pretty positive it's the inside. I cleaned the outside with different rubbing compounds as well as Meguiar's PlastX. It made it a little better, but you can tell when you look closely/feel it, that it's actually on the inside. The outside of the heads are smooth and nicely polished now, but you can still see the haze inside. Isn't there some sort of substance on the inside of the heads that's heat resistant or something like that? Only think I can think of is the Florida heat (easily breaking 100 degrees each summer day), somehow distorted or hazed it?

I guess the more accurate question is, what can I put on the inside of the heads to prevent it before I put them back in? I'm pretty sure a rubbing compound will fix it, but any ideas of what can prevent it?
