it would actually be pretty simple to do, just get a second person to take pics while you are doing the work!GryStrm wrote: lol this is a time sensitive operation!! no time shot pics between steps...but i will post up a step by step when its done!...
Yea, its only the housings on the 07+ lower model nissans that have this deisgn flaw. The G37 and 350z have the normal glue. Back in 03 era the used the normal, pliable, glue. This silicone based glue they are using today has much much higher melting point, therefore, a much harder process to get open. A heat gun can and will work, but the best option will be the receeding heat oven technique used by grystrmdomdada wrote:Hey Guys....I don't know if this would be of any help or not....But I had done this to my '03 Alti and I didn't bake it to get the housing open. I simply used a heat gun on high heat and used a flat head screwdriver to get the housing open, this way I didn't have to worry about anything else melting off. I did one section at a time and worked my way from one end to the other. I may have taken a bit more time to do it that way....but it worked out perfectly.
Providing your oven is big enough to fit the headlight....unlike my oven!adidas2go wrote:

Another reason for rebakeing the housing is to set the paint. Alot of paint has a tendence to relise chemicals when heated for the first time. So bakeing them again sets the paint so they dont fog up your lights once they heat up again.dangeris wrote:Hey Kanejuice....you mentioned that:"Your going to want to bake the back piece of the housing in the oven again for 6 minutes .. " why do we want to do that?
