yes i understand that, but as far as ive seen sohcs have been cheaper than dohcs and I will just snatch a 240 up regardless of the engine, because I am getting impatient.

I actually think it's the opposite as far as price...the DOHC motor has mucho EBay parts that work.

I meant in finding one, aftermarket Im very sure that you are right. But as far as I have seen(not saying much) socks (lol at sohc) have been cheaper to buy than the dohc cars.

my 240 has like 230k on it and with a rebuild kit in it and it runs perfect and all the cylinders comp test fine so with a decent rebuild kit i wouldnt think there would be much of a prob however still dont understand why you would want sohc but thats just me

Update: I've been considering another car lately, since I am having a hard time finding a perfect 240 for me. However if I decide to do what I am about to propose the 240 wont matter as much. What I am thinking about doing is skipping learning on the kat and going to an rb20det. I love the sound of it, its cheaper than the sr20 and in the long run it will achieve my power goals for this project. I am concerned that I will mess things up and ruin the great engine but I wanna learn so bad that I just don't won't to worry and not try. So what do you guys think? Go for a 240 especially an older one with good suspension and body? and then do the rb20swap? I know its going to be difficult but I really want to try and do it.

edit: also i found a 240 with an rb20det in my area and it needs wheels and igniter but looks alright. its fairly close and if i found a trailer for cheap i could buy it, That sounds like a great option but I am unsure what to do. And I dont like buying pre modded cars, but this is a good deal.

You might find yourself way in over your head real quick with the non running RB. It really depends on your skills and patience. All the information you need to get the car running can be found on Nico.

The rb20's a great motor.

I understand, but If i went with an KA i would want to swap engines eventually bc my favorite engine, after looking at potential swaps that I could do, rb20 is my fav. Im still not so solid on this decision but I want to know what other opinions are. Thanks!BW
