Precisely. Lets not repeat this mess with Lybia.

But good job to Barack, the Intelligence Team and the Seals that did the deed. I wanna see the movie of this sh*t already.

Let's give credit where credit is due... and it doesn't lie with Obama.

Are you serious? You're implying that the military's Commander In Chief had nothing to do with these events? Did the operation comission itself? He has to take the blame when things go wrong, but can take no credit when things go right?

They say they wrapped him in a white sheet and dumped him in the Ocean. Apparently its an Islamic law. I would say F that and burn the body. Actually I would've kept him alive, cut his 11th finger off and dump salty vineger on it, beat the S out of him until he finally bled to death, then embalmed him with pork. F him!

Im happy hes dead though, hopefully all of this is over and we will be out of the Middle east in no time.

That gif of Obama kicking the door was funny.

Unfortunately, yes. :(

Just like we actively supported Saddam Hussain & Iraq when they fought against Iran. BTW, I speculate that Iraq's invasion of Kuwait was with the tacit support of our Ambassador Gillespie (name?) in 1991. We then chose to switch sides after realizing that he threatened Saudi Arabia as a result.

Needless to say, it is good that Osama bin Laden is gone ... in toto, Al Qaeda killed more Pakistanis in attacks than in the US on 9/11 and other foreign attacks, so yes, I hope he goes straight to hell, (although I wish he could be put on trial for his [directing] such crimes against humanity).

FWIW, I just don't know what impact this will have on the future of terrorism though - it may well continue unabated unfortunately or get enhanced. :ohno:

I also hope you are right on the first point ... and wrong on the second (even though I know you are probably right there too! :().

Islamic law only states that the body should be ritually cleansed & buried quickly. Preferrably before sunset. The Administration choose to do this because the Muslim world got pissed at us after how we handled Saddam's son's dead bodies. We embalmed those & put them on display.

I think this administration's senitivity to that issue was wise. But choosing to dump the body at sea was because we didn't want to end up bringing that bastard back to the US & having to bury him on our soil.

The news spread like wild fire at the Phillies and Mets game last night and fans of both teams proceeded to chant USA, USA, USA. The wild thing is that the news came at the top of the 9th and the score was tied 1 - 1. Craziness.

Oh yeah I completely forgot about that display event. That was weird, Id be mad at that too. But yeah I would definantly protest on burrying him here, no chance that would ever happen. I guess siiting a mile below sea level is sufficient enough.

My guess is that he has been dead for some time now, but the US set out to release the information on the anniversary or Bush's "Mission Accomplished" speech.
No images of him and he was buried at sea, re-election just around the comer. ::sigh::

Why is everyone looking for some hidden information here? Can no one just accept this at face value until more details are provided?

Yeah... we get it, Obama didn't shoot Bin Laden in the head himself. But then again, Bin Laden didn't fly the planes into the twin towers so either leadership counts, or it doesn't. Stop splitting hairs and party lines and just celebrate the fact that he's gone. :woot:

I feel that we shouldn't be celebrating at all. Its took us a lot of time and money to find 1 man in Pakistan, not afghanistan. and the worst part of it is he was close to a military base or ours. I find this to be embarrassing. 9 years, thousands of soldiers, billions if not trillions, and we finally got our main target, but what about those wmd's? Where are they?

Agreed, but the fact is that the leader is dead. It did take a long time but there are also alot of politics involved in the middle east, one obvious thing being oil. Not to forget other rules, forign policy, war tactics, and all that complicated crap. Its finally a good excuse to end this too long of a war tho.

You're right. All he did was give the green light, which is all Osama did. What I am saying is that this, conveniently or not, came very close to election time and that credit lies with the CIA and the marines who carried out the mission. Obama happened to be the guy in charge when this went down, which is how I feel about most things that happen in our government. The president gets the credit or blame for whatever comes their way, whether they could do anything about it or not. I don't want to get into a political debate, but I don't want everyone to go around drinking the "Obama Koolaid" either.

I was a little disappointed with the "I gave the order" nonsense.

The "order" was given in 2001. But, I suppose it's what politicians do.

Anyway, good riddance to someone who never accomplished anything useful or productive - and that, my friends, is a fate worse than death.

I felt the same. I felt it took away from the speech and he emphasized "I". Anyways it got done but i give no credit to Obama.

Use your brain a little bit. The WMD's were al qaeda themselves. I know the operative was out for bombs and nukes but the members used themselves to kill. Without a central leader now hopefully they will loose some motivation and the allure for new members.

Anyways this is how I celebrated. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQZFwJIbkvU

I assumed OBL was dead years ago, so I'm not as enthusiastic about it as when Saddam was captured. I'm very pleased that he's in the ocean now, however, rather than making violent mischief.

I'm glad he's gone. Now can we PLEASE get back to the pressing issues at hand? We have a s*** economy to fix and a massive debt to rid ourselves of.
