Ever try using a bottle hone to port/polish with? They make them in all kinds of sizes, I've wanted to try it for awhile now, maybe you could take a quick measurement and buy one that will let you even out the runner ports after you go at them with a dremel.

I've used them on the cylinders before and they work great for that. In fact that's all I ever used on the RB20 if I popped a piston. I'd just drop the pan, pull the head, remove the piston, run the hone through to smooth out any scratches and put in a spare used piston/rod combo...lol. I think I did that 4 times in my quest to break 500 with the RB20 :chuckle:

so you mean like one of these?

if so i have only used them for cylinders in a ka lol they do work awesome. i have thought about using one for my intake runners, but i was talking to my local auto parts store owner (very smart guy) and he was saying that it might clog up like a grinding wheel. since they arent meant for aluminum. and i think that they would just smooth out more than port or polish. which is a good thing but if you want to go bigger it might take a long time with that. i usually use a flapper wheel to smooth out like this

they work real good. in like the 120 grit range.

Yeah that's what I meant, after you hogged out the ports you could run that bottle hone through it and even everything out. Was just something I have wanted to try and figured I ask you to guinea pig it for me...lol.
