Big Spring Meet 3/20/04 *HOTEL INFORMATION*

:rant On another note......I checked the status of the hotel for our "BIG HUGE MASSIVE NATIONAL NICO MEET". I am embarrassed that I reserved 40 rooms at the Hilton. Only 9, just 9 rooms have been reserved! That is pathetic. Please Please Please reserve a room. The cut off date is Feb. 27th to reserve rooms. Talk to your friends and other forums about coming to the meet. :rant

10 now with me. I have three other ppl in my room...so maybe there are more people coming than you think...

As far as only 1/4 of the rooms allotted, yeah, that is pretty weak, hope it doesn't translate to low participation with the dyno and track meet either. Not exactly coming from 20 miles away...

Make that 11...I just reserved a 3rd room....and we're fitting at least 4 to a room.

So...should be 15 coming with just me, not to mention all the Louisville people that won't be staying the night.

See I have a problem with that. Cause I hate when people put stuff under my wipers. I would be kinda annoyed somebody messed with my car.

I try to give the NICO cards to people rather than the car.Sometimes I will do the wiper thing if noone is around.

Also, keep in mind it's not for "weight-lose stuff" or "working from home", it should be taken as a compliment?? But I can understand your concern, especially in a metropolitan area.

OK guys.....today was the cutoff. I got it extended until Feb. 29th but that is all they will do for us. That is truly the final cutoff date now. Please if you plan on going reserve a room or make plans to be in a room with someone. My main concern is someone waiting and thinking there will be rooms all over Lexington and that's just not the case with the NCAA stuff going on. I posted my email, AIM/Yahoo IM and even my phone # if you have any questions or problems. Get in touch with me if you have any questions at all about the rooms etc or what's going on in Lex.

So the 29th is it guys......get to it!

GR, word has it there are no double bed rooms left, just kings. This surprises me with only 25-30% of the block taken. Any ideas or is this just how it is?

No idea why. It was supposed to be the other way around. More doubles, less kings. I'll call and see what's going on. They may be having a lot of bookings in the rest of the hotel for the NCAA tourney. Maybe they yanked some of our doubles and gave us kings since we weren't reserving very many rooms.

To my understanding the price for the rooms is the same regardless of the bed size. It's a straight $69/room for our group.

I think he's referring to what it would cost for a room with 2 kings, if they even offer a room like that.

Correct.. We have reservations for 2 king rooms, but we would only want 1 twin room.

69/night is better than 138/night if at all possible

I don't think a place has been picked/found yet, but some of the locals are working on it.

You might want to connect with rydwhite, as for what's going to be happening Friday night and to caravan down.

I just checked the NCAA's site, and there's no Final Four tourney games (even regional) slated for Lexington. I thought that's why we had to book so far in advance??

Forte - I replied, basically ... I'd suggest you get in touch with Ryan (rydwhite) Red G35C, from what I've read/seen he's going to be going down to Loiusville Friday as well.
