Quit complaining about taxes on oil. They make, as I pointed out above, transportation 6 times cheaper than the free market roads are.
It does not surprise me in the least that you are all for punishing corporations who make profits. How much exactly do you think they should be able to make? 1%, .5%, run in the negative?

Unfortunately, they weren't responding to anything but their own manufactured intel.

Perhaps because the residents are so darn smart?

Why do the NJ voters tolerate such rubbish?

Oh, and Bob - Your CA freeways leave a LOT to be desired. Biggest potholes I've ever seen, and I've driven in 30+ states.

Which one is it, the 4-oh-something? Horribly under-maintained...

Agreed! It is not better in Northern California either. Here is what I said:
szhosain wrote:Roads around here in Norcal are surprisingly bad. Even newly built highways (like the section of Highway 87 through downtown San Jose) are so badly built, IMHO, that I find it a waste of money. On 87, every expansion joint was left with ridges that they only recently got around to "shaving" down. Jolted the heck out of my car every time I went over them. The roadway undulates so much that you feel like you are in a roller coaster!
in this thread: zerothread/357871.

Our liberal CA government spends its money (massive revenue compared to other states) on entitlement programs and does not spend on basic infrastructure repair.

He has been trying to cut back on the over-spending, lack of budgets, etc. Been hampered all along the way.

The CA legislature just does not get it ...
