Thats exactly what I'm hoping happens. I seriously won't care after this is squashed, I'm not gonna come back on the threads and bloat about it and talk smack. But, like Innovazn said, you mess with another car enthusiast, ESPECIALLY when you're on another forum and part of a team, then it's not gonna go down so easily.

I'm meeting his brother tomorrow around 1pm to do the exchange. Hopefully it goes over smoothly.

Ahhh I just saw his ad yesterday, and was thinking whether or not he was a member. I found a guy selling brand new springs out of his house for $190. I think I'm just gonna do that. BTW, whats the part number on springs? I want to make sure it matches with whats on the box when I buy it.

The correct part #'s are 6386.140 (2.5) or 6385.140 (3.5)..... Both provide the same drop so I'm confused as to why there are two different part numbers.

check this site out. the number will depend of the springs are for the altima sedan or the altima coupe.

Both the numbers I posted are for a coupe. One is for the 2.5 and one the 3.5.

Well it's the moment of truth. Let's see if he does in fact come through with the payment. I will make an update around 3 o'clock as to whether he comes through or not.

And Red I believe the reason why the part numbers are different is because springs for a 2.5 and 3.5 are different

Well everything is taken care of . He came through, he got back his springs and I'm fully reimbursed . I can't say I feel the way I thought about him just the other day in terms of being a crook. Let this be a lesson for not only the both of us but for everyone else who is looking into selling or buying something off craigslist or even a member on here whether he's well-known or not. And don't hesitate to take action if you're screwed over You and if they say there's a no refund policy because that's not always true.

Thank you guys again for the support and for the advice. This place is incredible and so are you guys. And as promised I will delete both threads but I just want to let you guys know this

The springs are different between the two cars because of the actual shock/strut assemblies used. Those are the differences between the 2.5 and 3.5. The springs provide the same drop, but utilize different spring rates to compensate for the dampening equipped on each respective vehicle.

A few weeks ago I made the mistake of ordering Tein 3.5 springs when I have a 2.5, called Tein to ask if I could still throw them on and they said they will fit but will not drop the car in the front due to the weight differences. just my $0.02

You asked about fitment. He answered your question with respect to fitment, not functionality. There is more to it aside from them just "fitting".

My first attempt to sound knowledgeable  haha that's kinda what I was meaning, don't want noobs like me in the future making the same mistake by using 3.5 springs lol anyways not trying to threadjack, glad everything got figured out with the fiasco!

Neither have I. I may get lazy and just take photos of the car dropped once its finished and call it a day instead making a build thread.

Yep.

Since there are a bunch of east-coasters here in this thread, how is everyone doing in the storm?
