heres a great write up on how to properly hook up a set of fog lights. I used this one and it worked great.

First off purchase a 4 pin, Single Throw/Single Pull 12V 30A replacement light relay. Parts stores usually have them near the driving lights. You will also need some insulated flat female connectors, electrical tape, wire crimps/cutters, and 3 or 4 ring terminals.
The relay should be marked with 4 terminals. 30, 85,86,87.30 = Power/battery85 = Ground86 = Switch/Parking Lights87 = Fog Light
Now get you car in the air. Ramps, or jack stands work (do not leave a car on a jack without stands under it!) Use a flat heads screw driver or a small pry bar to remove the push pins holding the splash sheild up. Pry the center out 1/4" then pull the old pin out.
Once that is off you can access your fog light blanks. One bolt holds it in place and it's vertical above the blank, you'll be able to feel it with your hand. Use a 10mm socket and take it out, the bottom is just held in the a clip, it will pull right off.
Took about 6"s of wire, and put a flat female connector on one side and a ring terminal on the other. Looking into the light opening on the passengers side you will see a bumper bolt, IIRC it was a 14mm not positive on the size. I removed it using a long extension and swivel, a wrench may work also. I put it back on with the ring connecter on it to ground the fog lights. For the drivers side I twisted two 6" peices of wire together. I put a ring terminal on one end, and a flat female connector on the othe rend and where the two are twisted together. Then like the other side remove the bolt, and ground the ring terminal. The middle female connect can be plugged into your relay at the terminal marked 85.
Now you can install the lights in reverse order that blanks came out. Plug your grounds into the light bulbs.
Now I messured enough wire to run from one fog light to the next. On the passengers side end I put a flat female connector and plugged it into the bulb. Then ran it over to the drivers side where I twisted it together with another 6" peice of wire. I took the twisted wires and put a flat female connector on them and plugged them into the drivers side fog light. On the other end of the 6" wire another flat female connector which was then connected to the realy terminal 87.
Take a wire with a female connector on it plugged into the #86 terminal on the relay and run it up to your drivers side parking light bulb. I forgot what color was positive, but you can use a test light or multimeter to check, or leave it unplugged until last and then check to see which one turns the lights on.You can connect the wire several ways. You could splice the factory wire, or use a quick crimp. You could push the wire into the back of the connect and tape it so it doesn't move. Or you could remove the clip and push the bare wire into the clip, fold it back and push the clip back onto the bulb.
Now another wire with a female connector from the #30 terminal up to the battery. You can use a ring terminal or a U terminal. Remove one of the top nuts and put on your terminal and retighten the nut. Make sure your wrench doesn't hit anything metal while doing this.
All Done. Now go and test your lights.
If they don't work make sure you have all the connectors pushed in. If you hear a click the relay is working. If you don't check to make sure that switch wire at the parking light is connected to the positive wire.
When you are sure they work you can mount the relay up and out of the way. I used a ZipTie to another wire harness. I then tucked the wire running across the front end behind the lower part of the bumper cover. Then reinstall your splash sheild. Your all done. [/quote]
