ramen is a good tip.

ButWhat's even cheaper:

Buy a BIG bag of rice.

Rice is good food.(stay away from Ricve-aroni its much more expensice than regular rice)

have one meal with salt+ pepperOne w/ just saltOne with salt and garlicpowderOne with Butter (costs a bit more)One with cheeselices (raises price of meal to 50 cents only when u wanna splurge)Also

On some days u can buy teh cheapest chicken franks u can find 90 cnts per packet)and cut up 2 of them per meal for variety. But not more than 2 if u wanna keep the price of meal low.

ramen can be altertnating with rice, but the rice can be a lot cheaper.

Fred...:)

Well, I dont have a job yet, I have school 14hours a week and I have $420 worth a bills a month. lol Which I do pay and then some.....(I still live at home and my income pays for almost everything and even when my car or the computer decides to pitch a fit and have to replace something). I started this thing I do, when I get money I take at least $1 or $2 out of money I get and put it in a box or piggy bank. I take loose change and take out a lil and put in my lil piggy bank. Dont count it or you'll spend it just save money out of each check or w/e. It does work. I recently counted out almost $10dollars in change and I had saved up $7bucks ( :( but had to use for gas).

Uhhh...shopping at stores dont get high expensive brand stuff go for the cheap and shop at stores you have those bonus cards at you can save alot on that too. I've saved from $2 to $6 bucks when I'm stuck with shopping for food. But I've been having rough times and my spare change saving routine has came in handy when I needed gas (especially if you can fill up about 10 to 12 bucks in your car). :D

I saved $25 on my last $70 purchase at Ralph's with my Ralph's card.

Ramen can be the answer at $.10 a pack though :)

Of course, you have to sacrifice your life by dying of malnutrition, but at least you'll have a few extra bucks!

I prefer Marie Calendar's Fettuccini Alfredo for $2 a pop at Ralph's. Damn they are good! And they have 67% your daily value of fat, what more could you want?

haha. you guys beet me to the donating 'bodily fluids' thing. Chicks can donate eggs and make a WHOLE BUNCH of cash. PRobabl because they have to go under the knife to do it.

I saved the most money by doing two things:1- cut up your ATM/debit card and use checks only. (makes it more difficult to get cash)2- stop going out to eat and stop going to bars. by ramen noodles and drink King Cobra.

my biggest thing was eating out. I go to school, and work alot. Now i just make a sandwich and chips, grab a can of pop. I was eating out about 2 times aday at least, at 5 bucks a piece. So im saving at least 50 dollars a week now. I always splurge once and a while, and eat out though.

true that, you've gotta save where you spend. there's no other way besides that except to actually WORK more often... and we all know that simply isnt an option ;)

I dont even deposit my checks in the bank.. I know if I do, the ATM card will suck them all dry. I get 4 checks a month (1 a week)- and usually the first check of the month takes care of the bills (not too many - cell phone, loan payments, food), with a couple bucks extra left over. After that, for the rest of the month, I pretty much just take the check and throw it in my stash. I try to not even look at the amount. For me at least (the type of person who cant help from spending money), I cant know how much I have- otherwise its's gone.

Best way to save is to simply figure out what you're spending and where. Then decide what you can do without to get back within your budget. This ain't rocket science. Keep a log for a month of EVERYTHING that you spend your money on, down to the last penny. Don't forget about the non-daily expenses that like car registration, insurance, oil changes, maintenance, etc. those things can be broken down into a monthly cost. You'll be shocked and amazed how much money you spend.Magazines, "mods" to your car, cigarettes, fast food, vending machine sodas/candy all suck more money than you think when you add 'em all up. Easy excercise worth doing.

Heh I'm at least somewhat lucky in that respect, cause I can use my college ID to buy a lot of the stupid day to day things I need... my tuition comes with a certain amount of "convinence points" or whatever I can use to buy stuff at campus stores, and dominos takes it too! sweet! Also I bought a subway pass, so that money isnt coming out of my day to day cash either... This way, I can pretty much leave my money at home and be good enough through the day. Hehe also I'm waiting for my income tax rebate check to boost my funds a little :D

Heh funny... Ive got it all worked out, but still I dont have a car or enough money for one... :(

take $5-$10 every week and just put it away... That's what I do..

Cuz i know I spend money on food and just crap all week... so my cash just goes without me knowing where it went.. so same deal, just put it aside and yo won't even notice it gone untill you have like $100 saved up all together then you will see the rewards...

heh man... when you're saving up for a car, $100 after more than 2 months of saving is pretty weak... what's that, like $500-$600 a year?? I wouldnt be able to get my 240 till I'm like 25!
