Best Wax

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I use the new Meguiars brand.

NXT Generation® Tech Wax® 2.0Item # G12718

http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/...12718This is a really good wax. I have tried about 40 of them and this one is the best.

Hope this helps.

Ditto - I've used it and love it - easy on/easy off. There is also a NXT detail spray for use in between applications. Not really a "wax", but a nano-technology sealant, I believe.

I use the regular meguiars gold class wax, and then the ultimate quik detalier after every wash. I wax once every 3 weeks, and clay bar once a quarter.

Buffing wheels aren't that great...you do a better job by hand, even though it takes longer.

I've never had that problem, and my Ex is black. I use the liquid, I let it dry (20m) and it buffs off easily and leaves a brilliant and deep shine.

BTW, I looked at the NXT bottle and its says "wax", but is further described as a synthetic polymer, and that's over my pay-grade to explain. But, it really works for me. Used it on my daughter's black Subaru as well and had the same excellent result.

Wax is good especially if it has been made with a synthetic polymer. This is the new technoloy. You really have to read that it does. Mostly all waxes look the same, but work differently. I also use a name brand that has been proven.

Dang that sucks. At least in CA, you do not have to worry about the weather at all. OK, the heat, but it is better than freezing.

I tried NU and think that NXT generation is better. All are about the same price. Good luck.

Sorry to hear this. Dump the soap. This is huge for the car. It can go bad.

Good choice, soap is cheap. We all learn from our mistakes. It could of been worst.

Move to Atlanta and you can leave your wax in the gagage over winter (LOL)

Cool man. You picked a good choice. That is the applicator pad for the wax to put it on. It is nice. I use the purple side. I think it has two sides, right one green and one purple. The purple is the softer side. You can use any side.

I use cloth baby diapers to take the wax off. You want to use the softest material cloth that you can find to take the wax off.

Good luck.

Yes, use the applicator to put it on. Whether you use a machine or remove by hand, since you've gone this far into the detailing issue, I strongly suggest getting micofiber towels specifically made for wax removal. Some guys use a certain cotton towel, but cut off the stitched edges to prevent scratching or scaring the finish you applied. Check out Autogeek.com for some super suggestions, insights and discussion forums.

Actually micro fiber cloth gums up and does not easily move on the car. It does work, but with some elbow grease. Here is what I do:

1. Wash the car, very well. Twice. Once with a lot of soap, like a foam bath. Then I use a power washer to wash it a second time, with little soap coming out of my 300PSI washer.

2. Rinse the car very well.

3. Dry the car with a 100% Chamois. It is leather is a type of porous, non-abrasive leather. In the 19th to the first half of the 20th centuries, it was very commonly used for gloves for men and women. It is commonly used as a drying material or polishing cloth.

4. Park the car in a cold area, garage, carport, etc. Make sure no sun is shinning on it. Make sure the entire car is cool to the touch and is dry.

5. Wax, either by hand or a machine. Do not burn the wax in with the machine. Be careful. You can read how to do this from the machine instructions.

6. Let the was dry completely, minmum of 20 mins. I always wait 4 hours. The longer you wait the better. Sometimes, I wait overnight, only do this if the car is in an air tight garage like mine. I have a special garage.

7. You can take the wax off either by hand or machine. Be careful not to burn it with the machine. I use the machine, then after that is done, I wipe the entire car with a large micro fiber cloth. I always use a brand new one. If you take the wax off by hand, I use 100% cotton cloth, lint free or a microfiber, but remember what I told you about the micro fiber.

All is good not matter, if you follow the steps. I hope I didnt leave out anything.

I don't use wax, it goes away too fast. I applied a good paint sealant, looks great and provides protection for at least 6 months. Scott

I`m a big fan of Zaino product:

Z2 PROZFX Flash Cure Accelerator AdditiveZ-6 Ultra Clean Gloss Enhancer SprayZ-CS Clear Seal

But now I realized that it is very time consuming to apply , wait, buff the whole car. It took me 2 to 3 hours to finish the ex35 exterior only.

This time I decided to cut corners and bought Meguiars NXT Generation® Tech Wax® 2.0

-Washed the car(touchless automatic carwash)-air dry -sprayed some Mequire quick detailer or Zaino Z-6 Ultra Clean Gloss Enhancer Spray- applied NXT GEN TECH WAX 2.0-waited to haze- Buffed a bit-sprayed Zaino Z-CS Clear Seal to seal it.

The whole process took me 1 hour including wheels and tires.

If I have enough time, I could have clayed the car first for ultimate exterior polishing result.

FYI: It took me awhile to decide if I would get the NXT 2.0 or the Turtle wax ICE POLISHhttp://www.turtlewax.com/main.taf?p=2,1,1,1
