+1 for Live for Speed.

It is definately the most realistic (physics wise) game out there. There are quite a few cars in that game that can drift nicely. Personally I use the RB4. Also, if you get tired of drifting, you can tear it up in one of the open wheel cars... I love the sound of that BMW F1 at 20Krpm lol

Check out the Games section, there is a post on LFS. I've raced with RedCoupe a few times, but we need more people!

Live For Speed hands down (been playing for years, no wheel tho). Any other game is fake drifting. Just like the vid of Grid.

GT3 was my favorite for drifting. I would set up my cars with right around 450 hp, no driving aids, and sim tires. Once you got used to the tires, it was a blast, and really easy to maintain long drifts.

GT4 ruined it for me. The understeer in that game killed my interest in the GT games.

Forza 2 is fun, but I'm not good at drifting in it. But the potential is there.

I agree, that trailer i posted for grid looks really... (auto drift) which is confusing. DIRT had awesome sliding physics and a good variable throttle/brake control, I'd only assume it would be carried over.

I know the spring settings are mixed up in GT4 rear spring settings are really the front and vice-versa, I need to bust out GT4 again to make sure about that but I remember messing with it and found that out.

HA! If you think FM2 is hard to drift in, you need to give up on video games.

There's two very distinct variations of what you're asking. First you have Arcade style crap. Meaning long outlandish drifting with minimal effort. Or just very unrealistic physics in general. Need for Speed falls under this category. Any game like it too I.E. Burnout, Midnight Club, Colin Mcrae Etc. My personal favorite in this category was Sega Super GT, which wasn't released for a console, and my local arcade got rid of it for some stupid reason. I want to buy the cabinet one day, but until I can, I guess my real cars take my attention.

Then you have your simulators. My personal favorite being GT3. If you can't drift in it, you can't set up the car, it's just that simple. Now, it's not easy, and just like in real life, you wont always win a real race drifting. You see, some people fail to realize that a super long high angle drift through a mellow right hand sweeper isn't the fastest way though the turn (Which is why I hate D1GP and all its fanboiness.). I've played some of the Xbox games, but I can't get down with the controls. In GT3, I use both analog sticks. Left for steering, and right for throttle. Super precise.

In summery, if you want fanboi drifting, look at all your local arcades for Sega Super GT. Provided hours of fun for my friends and I. We had arcade Tuesdays, and the loser paid for the games.I can't speak for the sims, I haven't played them all, and I'm die hard GT3 fan, I was hooked with the first one, and ironically I have yet to be beaten when using any of my personal tunes.

I agree that in the GT series is the hardest to drift in, but you do really need to know how to set your car up successfully it is very possible. I've almost mastered it but it juuust won't quite yet.D1GP game is almost too easy to drift. Any setup is possible to drift, but on the plus side you have to be good with braking and throttle inputs to hold your angle and speed. If you can master it you'll be great. Some of the techniques can be transferred to other games mentioned. (Trust it works.)And Forza, I I haven't played much but with the right power and setup you can do it. I have an RX-7 I started building on my buddy's system. It is truly a lot easier than on the GT series. And I dont play arcade crap. Its just not challenging driving wise. Arcade racing has been known to cheat in my opinion.

Need For speed Carbon had specific drifting races, as well as sprint drag and others so it was pretty fun. Project gotham is always a good choice, but gran turismo hasn't been good for drifting since the very first one, choose the old corvette and drift away.

You crazy?! Like mentioned before. Turn off the driving assists and traction control and you're golden on GT. NFS is just gay if you compare it to any of the more realistic racing games. NFS is just as much to blame for as FnF, but that's a whole other thread. I just really hate how that game portrays imports

I agree with Gold. Although I've never played forza I've heard good things about it and yes Gran Turismo would benefit with some more aggressive sounds. My '69 Camaro sounds the same as my '96 180SX.

Most of the games it is very difficult to drift with a controller, except for GT3, which isn't very realistic, but very fun to play. As far as gt4 goes, for me, you need a wheel. I currently have the only gt4 Logitech wheel, but hopefully with get the G25 wheel (clutch pedal and h-beam shifter) with a play seat, or whatever they are called next week after GT4.5 comes out.

D1 GP, the computer aids you a lot, at least I have noticed, it will "put" your car on a predetermined line, that’s not the best way to describe it, but there is some assist even when all aids are disabled. I haven’t played any of the forza games for more than 5 minutes, so I really can not comment on them.

As for the newer NSF games, automatic fail.

As for above, you got the right game, wrong version (:

GT4 Is Almost Perfect!Got 85.5% Complete!...Took Me A While Tho...I Agree After A While The Cars Start Sounding The Same, Also The Tire Smoke Is A Little On The Weak Side, But That Game Was Never Really Setup For Drifting So Thats Ok.

This game would be awesome so I searched around and found that its only for PAL ps2 and ps3. It also said that it was released here as Tokyo Extreme Racer. Ive played all of the Tokyo racer games and haven't come across this one.

Whats your favorite game to drift in?

Forza 2 is hard to driftGT series is hard to driftMaybe PGR?
its on ntsc too because I bought past year in walmart ( nogales , az)
